Rather video gamers are the ones who use redundant terms like "box to box cm". An utterly bollocks term. That only talks about a midfielders attributes and give him no defined midfield role on the pitch His defined role is central midfield. Why is there a need to subcategorize a position? Should we subcategorize Rio and Vidic since they are different?
In midfield there are only two duties. With 2 definite roles. That of defending and that of attacking. The same way that there are left and right wingers/fullbacks. The central midfielder that does the majority of the defending in midfield, is the defensive (i,e defensive minded) midfielder. While the one who does most of the attacking is the attacking (attack minded) midfielder.
