Bentley

Blackburn Rovers face a fight to keep hold of star-man David Bentley with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all interested in the star, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reports that Blackburn chief executive John Williams admits he faces a battle to keep England winger David Bentley despite offering him a pay rise.

Williams, who will face a tough summer of speculation about the 23-year-old, said:

"We're a good club in the top half of the league but I suppose how long we can hold on to certain players remains to be seen.

"David signed a new contract a year ago, but needs a new one."

United - Ronaldo, Giggs, nani, Park, no need for him
Chelsea - Cole, midget, Malouda - no need for him
Arsenal - he's better than Pleb and Rosicky
Liverpool - anything is better than Pennant

would be a decent signing for Liverpool IMO, they already have one Arsenal reject, this one is actually decent

if he keeps playing as he has been he'd be an asset at any club surely. Spurs have a crazy amount of midfielders but he'd suit them

I rate him pretty highly. His crossing and shooting is fantastic and he is pretty good at beating players. I wouldnt be that annoyed if he signed, but i reckon he would cost a fortune (big player for Blackburn and he is English). However when you really look at it Ronaldo and Nani are both young and playing well. Park being the back up. Do we really need Bentley? Liverpool would be favourites in my opinion as they lack wide players of any quality.

Only Liverpool and possibly Arsenal need him. Arsenal don't play with traditional wingers anyway, and whoever said he is better than Hleb is silly. It's a stretch to say he's even better than Rosicky.

If he does leave Blackburn in the summer, I can't see him going anywhere other than Liverpool or Spurs.

Are you having a laugh?
Hleb has come leaps and bounds this season. Rosicky is the captain and a certain starter in the Czech team. What makes you think that Bentley is better than both of them? I can't think of any reason other than the fact that he's English and that's exactly why you let your patriotic heart masks your own judgment.

To say hes better than Hleb is a farce. Dont care how much you hate arsenal anyone with even one eye can see that Hleb is a shoe in for team of the year. He has been terrific and i think he is easily the most entertaining player to watch in a entertaining arsenal team. The best dribbler in the league.

Didn't he come out with some quotes a few weeks ago about how much he hated his time at Le Arse, and how it was boring and they had no banter?

Doubt he would go back there, and furthermore doubt they would want him.

silly.

He'd be a good buy for Spurs. Play him in the middle with Huddlestone and Jenas and have Lennon playing wherever he wants

I'd definitely take him at United, though it'd be a bit of extravagant signing considering the wingers we have at the moment. Used to support us as a lad too, didn't he?

What the..., are you on crack or something? Hleb and rocisky are much much better then bentley.

Obviously Hleb is. Rosicky is more talented, but hasn't exactly had much consistent form at Arsenal.

Just a thought, but perhaps Fergie is looking at a right sided player because he intends on moving Ronaldo inside into a more traditional striking role?

Just a thought.
