Also Berbatov can communicate in English whereas Benzema cannot, although there are a few French speakers at the club. |

Disagree with point two, his game isn't based around being clinical/selfish/scoring goals. Berbatov has already adapted to the league and will continue to adapt his game to fit it while his physicality declines, there is no guarantee Benzema will adapt. Completely disagree. With all of the talent Benzema has, he would not be happy in the slightest about being put on the bench, especially since this isn't his first choice team, so I don't think he would accept sitting on the bench any more than Berbatov. But in all honesty who knows how Berbatov or Benzema will react to being put on the bench? The only thing I completely agree on is the resale value, it can only increase. |

Regarding your 'proven in the premiership' point it was a gamble that brought Berbatov from a comparably weaker league into the premiership. Fans also questioned Torres' adaptability. At some point you have to take a risk. But to look at the player, he does appear to have the natural characteristics to survive in the prem. I think he is a bit a selfish, from what I have seen of him. When he's in or around the box he is single-minded, he wants to shoot and score and I think that's what we need more than anything. And with your initial point, it is true that Berbatov has only had eyes for United for a while now, where Benzema has mentioned Spain before he's mentioned England, but his value will increase so it's still a good bit of business. And if he stays with us for 3/4/5 years thats still a good spell, especially in football nowadays. |

LYON ace Karim Benzema has put the Premier League on red alert by admitting he is ready for a fresh challenge abroad.
The forward is tipped to replace Thierry Henry as France's main marksman and caught the eye last season with a string of impressive performances in the Champions League. And it seems a move away from the French champions could be on the cards after Benzema, 20, hinted he is ready to quit. He said: “I don’t know the date of my departure or my future destination. England, Spain, Italy — everything is possible." Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the French international but the Spanish giants would face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United. Benzema added: "Real Madrid? Why not? But they are not the only club that could suit me. “Some people think I’m an arrogant and insensitive to the pressure. But my strength is that I know where I’m going to. “I want to win the Ballon d’Or and, to achieve this, I need to win club titles and with France. "When I speak about titles I mean the Champions League. Reaching the quarter-finals or the semi-finals is not enough. “That’s why I’ll need to play for a club that will offer me the chance to win it.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle1594419.ece |
