the only other club that made any offer for modric were Newcastle (and yeah you have more pulling power than them) Arsenal were interested but never made any genuine offer. As far as arshavin is concerned there is genuine interest from barca, chelsea, arsenal if you think if those clubs actually make an offer for him, and he would sign for you then you need serious help |

Bellion, Miller, Kleberson, Taibi, several other shite keepers. The man is a legend but not infallible.
Huntelaar would not be available for half this fee, more like £18-20 million at least. |

"Unless people really really doubt Berbatovs ability then i think it is whimsical for them to criticise this particular transfer" See how it hinges on that word, yes, shall i continue? The point being that unless you doubt Berbatovs ability, you have no ground for criticising the transfer, we would pay similar money for any other top striker in the world, even more. So the point is; unless you think he isn't one of the top strikers in the world, money is a not really an issue you could take up with Ferguson. Otherwise... If it is his attributes, and how suitable they are when fitting them into our team, i would take Fergusons view as far more valuable than your own. Some have said Djemba Djemba, but when you spend 3m on a player, you incur a far greater risk - Berbatov is proven within a certain bracket of player, Fergie has decided (apparently) that he is the most suitable player. I tend to agree with him. You have a penchant for totally missing the point. |

I can't personally see how we can need someone like Berbatov, But then again I am not the manager(thank God) and up to now that guy SAF or whatever they call him has always done the right thing. So if he thinks we need Berbatov then we fuckin need Berbatov.

i'd be quite happy if he's as good as teddy was for us (remember teddy won pfa and fwa player of the year awards his last season with united). i've come around the berbatov deal. i mean, i've always rated him but was always hung up over the price. now i just don't care anymore, he's quality, get him in asap, get him training with wazza and tevez and lets get on with it. |

And how do you know that "the only other club that made any offer for modric were Newcastle"? From newspapers? The fact is that many were surprised when Spurs announced Modric. As I've said before - Spurs have a lot more going for them than you think. Not least Ramos - one of the most highly respected managers in Europe. Pulling power is also partly about showing a player that you really, really want them. There was interest in Berbatov from MUFC originally, but Spurs got him. Pulling power is also sometimes about providing regular first team opportunities. Arshavin (for example) could go to Barca or Chelseas and spend half his time or more sitting on the bench, or come to Spurs and play week and week out. That's one reason why we got Bale, despite reported MUFC interest (and no, I don't know how real that interest was and neither I suspect do you). And pulling power is also about being in the Prem - many players want to try their hand in the toughest league in the world. Not all of them want to play in La Liga. I'm not saying Spurs are after Arshavin, but if we are then I wouldn't rule us out by any means. |

And you don't have any ground for criticising the transfer unless you doubt his ability because:
Price - top talent, top dollar. It's self explanatory. Attributes - Fergie knows a hell of a lot more than you. Don't worry, continue your way around the forum making a belligerent idiot of yourself. |

I know you just want my attention and for me to give you a big hug and say "It's okay man. I see past your cheesy insults, hypocricy and strange use of punctuation and you're still my man" However this is not going to happen. So how about we get to debating football matters rather than trying to hone a craft of trash talking you clearly aren't suited for? I'd imagine its for the best for everyone. |

To make it worse, you want to paint it as if my opinion on him is remotely as incomplete as yours. When you most probably never knew a thing about Berbatov before he came to Spurs. A handicap I do not suffer from. You're right. It's infact based on a wishful fabrication that springs entirely from your own head. For I am not one to talk about things I have in complete information about. Like you clearly do. |

, laugh it off and hope for the best. You answer selectively, ignore most of the things i say and pipe some shit about me insulting you.We went through all of these things, which you decided not to read or answer. You said to me that i wasn't clever enough to read after softly calling you titwit - a non insult. You are too touchy my dear. ![]() ![]() - see, they do nothing for my argument. They don't do anything for you either, stop hiding behind these smiley faces. |

As for the Chelsea interest you must of been living under a rock because the stories have been everywhere! Whether or not they're any more credible than the stories linking us with Hunterlaar is another matter And even if you are right (which you are not) and Arsenal and Chelsea aren't in for him Barca are and he wouldn't choose Spurs over them (sorry Glaston) Quote:
As for Spurs pulling power I'm sorry but it's not as big as you think as has always been the case with spurs, whether or not the interest is real but there have been several players I would think would be reachable for Spurs that have really put you down in the press and quashed any possibility of joining you. |

Kleberson, Bellion, Dong FFS!!
offset with Ronaldo, Rooney, Keano and a 100 other top quality signings Every manager has to gamble when signing knew players. They make a call based on ability, but they have no way of knowing how players will knit into his squad and, in Fergies case, how they will handle playing for Man United. My take on Berbatov is this: His quality, touch, vision and class are exciting, his lack of aparent work ethic worries me. His sulkiness I put down to him being too good for a lot of his team. That wont be a problem at OT. Personally, I'm not convined he's a United player, but in Fergie I trust. He'll bring something different. If Fergie likes him. Sign him on ![]() |
