Bolton signs Elmander

Bolton have completed the signing of Toulouse striker Johan Elmander for an undisclosed fee.

The Sweden international, who represented his country at Euro 2008, moves to the Reebok Stadium on a three-year deal.

Elmander, 27, joins Bolton with Norwegian international Daniel Braaten moving in the other direction in a cash plus player deal.

And Bolton boss Gary Megson is delighted to have landed his man after chasing Elmander for six months.

"Johan is a player I have admired for a long time," Megson told Bolton's official website.

"He's a player who will get us goals and also create opportunities for his team-mates.

"I am still on the look out for other players to boost the quality of our squad."

they have given up the Saha deal then.

Good player, lost a bit of form this year but suits their style perfectly.

More than underway, with Tottenham making three good signings and Manciteh also getting in to the act and now Bolton.

When will United get in to the act?

The capacity he has is absolutely premier top class, but he has failed so many times before and I think this is a guy who need to fit into a group and feel comfortable with where he's staying to perform well. He's got everything it takes to succeed in this league. A mobile target player that takes a massive responsability for the team, good spirit and ability to score a lot of goals. Bolton is a good club for him to start with because of the physical game they play. Eventhough the fee is not official I think it's pretty safe to say he's the 2nd or 3rd most expensive swedish player ever.

(27), he would probably be a very good signing and since Anelka left they hadn't that much quality up front although the cunts stayed up.

Slightly off topic, but Anelka seems to only do well for Bolton, perhaps Bolton should put in a (5 Million Bid in for Anelka), then chelsea will have had it.

No need to panic.I'm sure United have already targeted the players they need.

Just out of interest, could someone post his FM stats? I don't have the game but I know how it works. It would be interesting to see how they rate him. To be close to reality he should have high numbers in these departments: Speed, physics, target player (shield the ball?), technique, strenght, team work and some creativity. Post the stats

Will be great to see Elmander in the premier league! Hopefully he'll impress and move on to at least Pompey/Villa/Everton to get some games in europe as well.

Should do well, has all the attributes to. But I think he needs a partner with pace, or more to the point, Bolton need more pace in general. I think they'll struggle otherwise because there is no way Megson will last until the end of the year, terrible football manager.

he should be a good signing for Bolton as long as they use him properly. and good buisness by them to offload Braaten in the process.

according to Kallstrom, Everton have enquired about him and he seemed genuinely happy that they we're interested in him. he's another swedish player i'd be stoked to watch week in week out in the PL and would be a great compliment to Arteta and Cahill

Completely agree. Think Bolton will do the world of good for him. I've been following him on the Swedish side for a few years, I think he can make an impression. Bolton has never really upset me, I wouldn't mind seeing them do well. Good signing.

The reason we haven't signed anyone yet is because we really don't need that many people and the people we're after are either still playing in Euro or are probably being courted by other clubs so it'll take time. Rather we take our time then rush it and get a crap player.

Good player. I don't know why he bothered signing for Bolton? He's a bit too skillful for them.
