Im not too bothered about missing out on Bosingwa, I wouldnt rate him as a £20million player anyway, im just more annoyed that Chelsea are AGAIN, stealing our transfer targets.
I mean Robben, Essien, Mikel, Ballack....this is getting rediculous now, our scouts might as well be half-paid by Chelsea FC. |

I dont see why the sudden obsession with Micah Richards?
Hes a class English centreback, but thats all I see him as. As a rightback I dont really think he'll be that much better than Brown or Hargreaves, at least not £20 million better. |

I'm more and more convinced the deal is already close to be done. All the signs are there - Chelsea obviously take away our "top target" at right-back, Lahm lately said he will most likely move on, Sagnol just said today that he wants to stay at Munich (and he will be first choice right-back), Lell has signed a contract extension just a week ago and Jansen is on a long-term deal.
Barcelona apparently are not interested anymore (source: Uli Hoeness) and we can offer a new challenge, Champions League football and eventually a nice pay rise. Add to that the fact we would probably get him for around nine million this could turn out to be the bargain of the century. |

Seems like Fergie has got Lahm in his sights then...Miguel from Valencia could be a very good option as well and could follow the mass exodus in the summer from that club....
However, we'll have Neville, Brown and Hargreaves next season who're all more than capable of doing a good job at RB, so I won't be surprised if we don't sign up anyone this summer in this position. |

16.25 million quid for bosingwa...fuck that is a bit rich. they just spent 9 million on that serb ivanovic in winter and haven't even given a single minute to him.
ah well, atleast that's one less player to spaculate on. hope this means lahm is a done deal for us. |

I share your hope on Lahm. He's top class.
As for Bosingwa, I just find it funny. They spent a large amount on a Portuguese right back four years ago, Ferreira. A few months back they give him a new five year contract. Now they spend tons on money on ANOTHER right back from Portugal. Is there actually a system that they do things by? No wonder they keep losing tons of money every year. |

what is crazy is what you pointed out, that they just gave ferreira a new 5 year deal. unless ferreira is happy to play backup, i'm sure he's quite unhappy. ivanovic is also supposedly very very good and an RB. they haven't even played him yet, now the buy bosingwa. THen again, rumours are that anelka will be sold in the summer, which is crazy that they spent 15 million for him just this jan. |

this signing does make sense for them, as they've gone through a lot of RB's. but the price is hard to swallow. We'll see about this best RB in the world stuff. |

Chelsea agree Bosingwa deal
Chelsea agree Bosingwa deal
£16.2 million deal for Portugal star By Francisco Acedo Last updated: 12th May 2008 Chelsea are set to win the race to sign Portuguese star Jose Bosingwa after agreeing a deal with Porto. The Blues are have struck a deal worth 20.5million euros (£16.2million) with Porto and the player has flown to London for talks and a medical. Porto announced a deal was done in a statement to the Portuguese Stock Exchange: "We inform the market that we have an understanding with Chelsea for the rights to our player Jose Bosingwa for the price of 20.5million euros. "More information on the relative agreement of the transfer will be legalised once the player concludes the medical examinations that he is now having with the permission of Porto football club." The player's agent Jorge Mendes has accompanied his client as Chelsea look to seal the deal in the next 48 hours. Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa have all made moves for the 25-year-old in recent months but it appears Chelsea have held them off to land the highly-rated full-back. Bosingwa, who has been at Porto for five years since joining from Boavista, will have his sights set on becoming first-choice at Stamford Bridge. Fellow countryman Paulo Ferriera and Brazilian Juliano Belletti are the other options to play at right-back for coach Avram Grant, while midfielder Michael Essien has also been used there on occasions. |

![]() He's quick and likes a dribble, has shit end product. Can do a half decent job defending. Exactly like Ferreira. Only unlike Ferreira, most dont consider him to be the best fullback in the world - because he's not. Not that Ferreira ever was. |

When you are competing against a side that can spend 16.2m on a RB after spending loads on Beletti and Ivanovic in the last year, then you've got no chance of blooding a young player like Danny Simpson. You've got to play proven quality to match up.
