It's not that he believed they'd sign Ronaldinho. That's not the point. It's that they said they would and didn't. Doesn't matter if you believe them or not it's that they said it in the first place and that was their way to keep you happy.

This lad has just been added to my 'Cunt' list.
What a fucking dickhead!!!! I cannot stand it when I hear footballers coming out with statements like this. ANY other 'profession' in the world and you'd be disciplined if you publicly stated that you could not give 100% anymore. Admittedly, it is not a direct comparison of jobs but do this fucking players not realise what a privilege it is to do what they do. Absolutely ridiculous point of view from Samba |

How sore you are. Privilege? Only privilege he's experienced is that his parents migrated to France so he was born there instead of in Africa.
He's much better than you at football. He's much better at it than most people in the world. That's why he's playing professionally with Blackburn. And he isn't lazy about it either. Is being a congressman and complaining about the government also cuntish because he has the privilege to try and change it? Or does this only apply to sports. |

My blackburn supporting mates think he deserves to leave. I think the fact he signed a new contract showed he was willing to stay if some ambition was shown, his original view of the owners was right but he gave them a chance.
Normally I hate players doing this but under the circumstances I don't blame him at all. |

£12m - if true - is fantastic money for Samba. Problem is, they can't spend it.
If they can just squeak staying up which they might, they could be safe enough next year. The defence is pretty shocking now though - losing Samba is one thing, but Nelsen as well... hm. |

Why is it a shambles? Player like these always move on from mediocre clubs, unless it's an odd case like Le Tissier. Essentially every club not in the top 6 is a feeder club when it comes to their very best players.

Me niether. It's horrible that it happens there, and it should not be swept under the carpet or excused, but it is also well documented. I can't see why any black player would want to play in Russia, of course they should be able to without any problems whatsoever, but the known reality is that just isn't the case, so why bother?

Change...Not the Obama kind but real change Sure, Samba took the cash but it wasn't like he didn't try to push for a move earlier - Blackburn never relented to his wishes...When the move came, why not do the best you can for yourself, right? As for knowingly going into a racism environment, how else will things ever change?...I imagine the multicultural emergence of Anzhi is an opportunity to not only raise the profile of the Russian league but also sheds light on problems that need addressing Of course, racism continues in Spain and the RFEF giving out €600 fines doesn't help change anything...Hopefully the Russian federation will do better on that front Just think that racism being prevalent shouldn't be a reason for someone of color to avoid certain locales as result...World is getting smaller |

You know for a fact that there is a 99.99% chance of getting racially abused in Russia but you still go there ?? It doesn't compute for me, I guess the money he earns is enough for him to be abused but then again what's the point of complaining ? I'd either avoid Russia and similar places or play there and not complain. |

Born in France to Congolese parents, he opted to play for Congo rather than France due to treatment he received in France because of his race...His path to professional football is an interesting one...I commend him for it because it's a tough decision to choose Congo over Les Bleus in world footy, IMHO...For me, a player of that ilk marches to the beat of his own conscience...QPR fans, I understand, loved him for his high character as well as his play...In particular, I liked how he responded to the incident in Russia I have a few close friends who are black from West & East Africa...Talking race issues with them is different than talking with my African American friends back home...I imagine it has something to do with making it as an African footballer that reinforces the notion that anything is possible and no hurdle is too great...At the end of the day, you make the decisions that are best for you...Samu is on the same team and is no less a player who marches to the beat of his own conscience, particularly in matters of race...High character players like that, I believe it's incumbent upon them to take a stand I'm white but I suppose if I were black, I'd be no less passionate about that point |

The problem here is FIFa not stepping in and telling the Russian FA to take major steps or fuck off. |

Yeah completely agree. I find is bizzare that FIFA are so weak when it comes to enforcing sanctions for racism, surely it's something 99.99% of football would get behind so it could only put them in a better light. From a P.R perspective Blatter and FIFA have taken quite a battering in recent years, so I'm surprised they haven't jumped at the chance to restore some credibility.
