You're right, he isn't better. But Bassong is clearly being loaned with a view to selling in the summer, and Nelsen is just a short-term deal, optionally as short as 6 months.

So maybe it's partly about creating a decent pecking order rank/space in the squad for Caulker to come into next summer when he returns from his (impressive thus far) loan spell at Swansea.

Marvin Sordell: Watford -> Bolton (3m)

Good signing for Bolton, he has impressed me for the Young Lions and in the latest game for Watford against Tottenham.

Nelsen has played one fucking league game this season........so to sign another injury-prone defender isn't really clever.

He will be only 5th choice behind King/Dawson/Gallas/Kaboul.......what are Nelsen's reason to go to Tottenham?

Nelson was in great form prior to his bad injury. I am surprised that Blackburn let him go

Bruno Uvini: Sao Paulo -> Spurs (loan)

3 month loan with option to sign him permanently at the end for 3.1m

He's the Brazilian U-20 captain and a CB. Other than that I know nothing about him.

Lucas Barrios: Dortmund -> Guangzhou Evergrande (14m)

Amazing deal for Dortmund.

But i don't understand Barrios. He's just 27-years old. Money can't be everything.

I took the piss when someone on here said that a top player still at his peak would go to China soon. But I reckon it'll happen. They're chucking money around like there's no tomorrow.

Why is it an amazing deal for Dortmund? Is he not worth the transfer fee?

1) He's just the number 2 striker behind Lewandowski, he hasn't played many games this season.
2) Dortmund have wanted just 8m for Barrios in January but the fee was too high for clubs like Fulham and Wolfsburg.

A club like Guangzhou seems to have a shit load of money. Conca is a player who could probably be relatively successful in Europe, but he also wouldn't be one of the best paid players in the world. Money talks; I'd never thought Eto'o would be playing at Anzhi. Zarate went to Dubai for no other reason than money, though he did no stay there long

I think it's inevitable too. However, there is just as much money in the European game. They'll have to pay ridiculous money to a player to make them leave European football when there are clubs like Anzhi that can offer limitless wages to quality players

Thought Fulham had an £8.6million bid turned down?

Chelsea sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen for 8mil. With the possibility that Lukaku might go to Bremen on loan.

End of the Modric to Chelsea rumours?

Rudnevs is ace, 22 goals in the league this season. He replaced Lewandowski and wasn't really much worse than him for Lech. Signed for €400k.

Great deal for Lech Poznan and great signing for Hamburg i think.

Right now he should be Hamburg's number 1 striker for the next season.

Still remember the cracking hat-trick he scored against Juventus in the Europa League last season, ... away to Juve 3-2 down in the 2nd minute of injury time and he does this:

Shouldn't there be a new thread like this one for this summer's confirmed transfers?

Just a date change on the thread title would probably suffice.

Vardy will go into Leicester's first team in fairness, he absolutely tore teams to shreds in the Conference. Without a doubt the best player I've ever seen at that level. He isn't a kid at all, 25 I think so will definitely go into their first team.

The price was always going to be high because Fleetwood had no reason whatsoever to sell him. They turned down offers of £750k plus in January because they wanted to make sure he helped them get promoted, if they didn't get the price they wanted he'd have stayed with them.

I'm quite happy to start a new thread for this year? If it's OK with KM. I did one in the newbies but it was set out differently to this one.

Let me know KM.
