Crespo Free Agent

Chelsea F.C. have decided to not renew the contract of striker Hernán Crespo, who is now a free agent.

The Argentine international joined The Blues from Inter Milan in 2003 for a fee in the region of £17 million.

He was deeply involved in Chelsea's attack during his first season at Stamford Bridge, making over 30 appearances for the club, but eventually became surplus to requirements once José Mourinho took over as coach in 2004.

Crespo would spend one season on loan at AC Milan before being recalled in 2005/06 but ended up being loaned out to Inter Milan for two seasons.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "After his contract expired this week, Hernan Crespo is no longer a Chelsea player.

"We thank Hernan for his efforts in a Chelsea shirt, and wish him well in the future."

Forgot all about him.

Despite being a leading striker in Europe for nigh on a decade, I can't recall myself seeing him all that often. Even when he was at Chelsea.

he proved he could 'cut it' in the premiership. just hated life in england.

great striker. has done the biz wherever he's played.

maybe would be a good pickup for fiorentina as they look to bolster their squad for the CL.

He'll probably just join Inter full time.

Well, he'd soon change his mine if he met me.

Superb player and good luck to him wherever he goes.

Well Jose moved him on straight away when he was at Chelsea so I would have thought that would be the same now

Besides unless he was injured he very rarely played for Inter last season as it was, everytime I saw them is was Zlatan or Cruz up front for them.

Brilliant player mind, always impressed me when I saw him play for AC Milan and Argentina

He didn't like England and he was injured. He is a better player than Cruz and Suazo so there is a possibility that he might move back to there.

It's all up to Jose and no-one really knows what he thinks of Crespo.

Yeah maybe, if we suddenly go through a year long heat wave or something of the like.

He is a decent striker with loads of experience and a good eye to goal. There again he is not the Bulgarian version of Jesus Christ.

Yep. If we hypnotised him into thinking England is in summer all the time.

He is yes. You missed the point. He hated London so I'm sure he wouldn't like Manchester too much either.

I like Crespo he has had quite a good career. Did not deserve to be on the losing end of the CL final against the scousers his chipped goal was top draw. Doubt he will come back to England though for the reasons people have put forward.

Was one of my favourite strikers at one point. Obviously, as has been mentioned he didn't like living in England, so its highly unlikely he'd consider coming back here... Though I wouldn't mind taking his former team mate Suazo instead.

Uderrated when he was here in England, and a right pain as far as we were concerned in the CL.

Great deal by Chelsea. Were they paying his salary for the three seasons he was on loan?

Precisely. IF he didn't hate England he'd be an excellent signing
