Fair play. If Fergie thinks he's worth it then can't really argue with it.

Welcome David. Hopefully our GK for the next 15 years.

Even my Real supporting mate down in Madrid says this guy is amazing so that's a bit comforting.

Still nervous about such a young keeper, but it was nice reading that Ricardo quote about him being incredibly strong mentally and that he has great concentration. You really need that at a top club.

Great news... 17m will be peanuts if De Gea turns out to be what I expect of him.

It was funny as 2 seasons ago most of the caf were going on about Asenjo... But then De Gea comes out of no where and 2 seasons later he joins us !

I'm friends with a goalkeeper coach (the best in his profession here), he told me that De Gea is the best young keeper in the world. He says that he is fantastic technically and physically and has a great temper for a keeper and will be a ample replacement for Van der Sar, whom he rates as the best keeper of the last decade

And the guy knows his stuff, he trained about 10 international keepers from 3 countries, including a PL keeper.

What's his distribution like then?

Can he ping it into the path of a striker?

Please learn how to pronounce his name. Spanish is so easy and it is embarrassing that many of our fans still cannot pronounce Chicharito correctly.

Just as well we're signing the keeper, not the back four.

Yeah, it's so embarrassing that English people can't speak Spanish. I mean, what the fuck?! Who are we not to speak Spanish 24/7?!

I'll pronounce it "De Gaye" if I find it easiest, instead of "De Hey-a"

I agree, people don't understand that Spanish is actually very easy, as the language allows for quite a bit of personal interpretation, which is why any of the follow ways is perfectly okay:
