He's been on the bench for West Ham most of the season.

Why?

You claimed that Ashton has been on the bench for most of the season, but then so was Tevez. If wasn't because either lacked quality. That's fact. You're a retard who has only posted in this thread that Ashton is shit. Well done you. He doesn't have great pace? Well neither do Berbatov or Huntelaar, neither do Rooney or Tevez, neither did Cantona, Hughes, Yorke or Sheringham. He'd hold the ball up for midfielder runners and has the ability to produce some fantastic pieces of skill on his own. I'm not the one being illogical, it's you, you've said nothing of any merit whatsoever in this entire thread. Fuck off and wank over Dani Alvez and Ben Arfa.

He got injured scoring the goal. I just worry about those injury prone strikers. Maybe if he was cutprice it might be worth considering.

I'd say Cantona, Yorke and Rooney are/were pretty quick.

Not lightning quick, but quick enough. We don't need someone with lightning pace. Ashton isn't as slow as people are making out, either. He'd do well at leading the line, bringing others into play, and competing in the air. Most of the times we have failed to score it's not been a lack of pace, it's been because defences put 10 men behind the ball.

You're comparing Tevez to Ashton, i find that hard to come to terms with, Chalk and cheese mate. You could start a thread in the Man Utd or Football forum to see if people share your opinion.

I would like you to find where i said Dean Ashton was shit, or infact any other insult. I said he occupie's the same space as Rooney and Tevez, but he is nowhere near their level. He is also slow and as a striker doesnt offer a team much penetration, which is what we lack and are looking for in a striker. Thanks for calling me a retard by the way, may i add doesnt make you look like one.

This is pure mildew on so many levels. Do you think Ashton will put Tevez or Rooney to the bench?

How am i being illogical. Here this might shed some light;

I put my opinion across with lots of valid reason's all of which are debatable at the very least, i'm happy for you to find the one's which are not.

SAF always like to have different options. Ashton would be about as different a striker as we can get to Rooney & Tevez. Even to Campbell (I'm assuming he will get his chance next season whilst Manucho should stay out on loan for another half a season. Saha will be off in the summer, IMO). He will be the striker that Smith never quite turned out to be for SAF.

Gonna agree with Gus here.

Clearly inferior to Berbatov but a decent striker nonetheless. Played well today.

Shocking barnet.

We were ripped off when we signed Carrick. And Hargreaves.

They're both turning out to be class signings though. Think of it as the "English player premium."

I can't see him going for any less than 8 million, i agree with Ekeke it doesnt make any sense, especially when Fabiano and Diego Milito are going for around 5-8 million this summer. Who are both much better and have different off the ball movement to Tevez and Rooney.

QC said in December when we signed Manucho that we were looking for strikers with different movement to Rooney and Tevez. IMO this rules Ashton and a few other players out.

Yeah. He's a handful alright.

I'd love us to sign a striker with real pace. Berbatov's superb at holding up the ball and passing, but so are Rooney and Tevez.
