Even when he's been quiet he's invariably been the one to pull out a moment of magic or been the one who was in the right place at the right time.
I honestly think that you've got to put some of C.Ronaldo's consistency down to his being at United under Ferguson - he has got exceptional levels of consistency out of so many players. I'm in no doubt that Brazilian Ronaldo and Ronaldinho would have been able to be substantially more consistent had they been under Ferguson's stewardship. Gazza too, for that matter.

Not to take anything away from C.Ronaldo, but Ferguson's influence definitely has to be taken into consideration.

in terms of pure effective skill and range of game, i've not seen any better in a long time.

it's such a shame was he has allowed to happen to himself. a real loss for football fans everywhere.
Absolutely agree. I'm pretty shocked by this -

He may be, but Ronaldinho was still the better player. He may not have been able to head the ball as well and may have been slightly slower but Ronaldinho was better than Ronaldo is now in every other way. Shooting, free kicks, creativity, inventiveness, dribbling, close control and strength.

It's a no brainer in my opinion; if Ronaldinho is available and he wants to come we should sign him. If we don't we may regret it.

If we do we may regret it too. It's not as if it's a win-win situation.

I suppose you're right about that, especially with amount of money City have reportedly offered him.

If you've just won the premiership and the Champions League then you probably have a pretty decent side already. There is a real danger that you can add top players and end up making things worse - Ballack and Shevchenko joining Chelsea being the perfect example.

There is a substantial risk involved in these sort of moves. Of course Ronaldinho would be brilliant to watch but the chances are that he would cost us points and deny us the chance to win the title and the Champions League. A quick look back at his career does suggest that his impact is very hit and miss.

if ronny leaves us I think we should buy all 3 and pass along the money to Barca we get a striker and two decent midfielders whether they are what they used to be doesn't really bother me chuck in our transfer budget as well. as nothing will piss Madrid off more then us giving barca their money especially if they spend it wisely enough to take their title off em next spring. or even swap ronny for the 3 the money doesn't really bother me I want to see Madrid suffer next year and cant see a better way then teaming up with Barca one way or another to screw the Nazi cunts over

sign Ronaldinho up is my first thought. Worth the risk to get the best player in the world on board.

I would personally. Ronaldinho still has a lot to prove, a lot to win and there is no better stage. He's also 27/28 so these should be his prime years. Under Sir Alex, if we got him fit he'd inspire the other lads just as much as Ronny does.

I think SAF and CQ would be able to get him back to his best. I wouldn't be opposed to it if he was cheap enough (obviously his wages wouldn't be)

Bit of a risk, however a player should have some inner desire to want to keep fit and have a passion to play regardless of the circumstances. It is a detriment to his character but the circumstances he was under at barca are not seen very much and it was either down to the management or himself.

Alternativly when he was at his best there was no player who could beat him for his unrivalled passion and desire for the game and its a chasm thats unfortunatly aligned with alot of brazilians. Maybe it was him playing beyond his powers when he was the pinnacle of the game.

One thing I do know is that I would be intrigued if batman and robin could bring him back to his best and I'd be amazed if they could and I would surely be astonished if I could see him link up with the holy trinity at his best at the theatre of dreams.

A risk to far? we will find that out if we don't sign him.

Deco stalls for time Friday 20 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Barcelona star Deco has asked for more time to consider whether he will join Inter, Chelsea or Manchester United.

The Portuguese ace’s Euro 2008 ended last night in a 3-2 defeat against Germany and many believe he will follow Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari to Chelsea.

However, a move to Inter is also an appealing prospect thanks to their appointment of compatriot Jose Mourinho, who is keen to work with the gifted playmaker.

“I know about the interest of Chelsea as well as other teams,” Deco admitted. “But I still have to make a decision.

“First I need to speak to Barcelona and soon there will be developments.”

Whatever happens, new Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola won’t be calling upon Deco for pre-season training after the Catalan side announced he was surplus to requirements.

“I knew that my time there was over,” Deco insisted. “It’s only natural for new Coach Guardiola to make that clear because he makes the decisions.”

What? I never heard we were linked to him. We have Scholesy who is better anyway. There is no point in spending a fortune on a player so old. We are sorted in cm anyway.

Fuck Deco.

P.S. This is not a good signing for Chelsea imo. Deco is old, lazy and hasn't been really good for ages and unless the premiership refs get even worse he won't win as many ridiculous free kicks every time he gets tackled as he did in Spain and Portugal.

I doubt he'd agree to just a 2 year deal, unless he was getting paid very high wages.

Deco will fit right in among all the other obnoxious benders in chavski. I'd love him and Ballack to be big flops playing together the coming season.

It doesn't sound stupid at all, it happens to plenty of players and definitely happened to him.
