Exactly, we want players that want to be here. Probably the reason why we are using Hazard to throw people off the scent of our real target.

They have the money.

They've had the money for a while.

But they've had a manager who has football morals not to spend big like that. So its not going to happen, especially when they are doing well in spite of fierce critisism about his policy early in the season.

He's not going to spend like that.

£17 million for Reyes, but £10.5 million up front and the was success based bonuses. Seeing as Arsenal didnt have much success and he didnt stay too long it was probably short of the £17 million mark

And of course there's no way Hazard will be going for £17 million, let alone £10.5 million up front.

I think before Arshavin Arsenal's record was £13 million for Wiltord. Then there was the £16 million for Arshavin. Considering what happened there Wenger might be even more reluctant to pay that kind of money in the future like we seem to be post Berbatov

And they will continue to battle for fourth, which is great considering.

That's a hazardous tactic. City's spies are everywhere.

I think this is a battle we really need to win. He's a top top player and little birdie tells me that rvp to city is a goer.

Stuff the little birdie has told me and I've posted on here in the last few weeks:

We have a verbal agreement for clyne in the summer. Nowt signed though.

Hazard is our no 1 target, but he's also at the top of spurs' and city's list. He said that he thinks that hazard would choose us over city but I find it hard to believe he'll come here if city offer him significantly more than we do.

As of a couple of weeks ago we had an interest in kagawa and had asked his agent to keep us informed as to his situation. I've no idea if the bild story is true or of we've taken it further, but if we have it'll probably mean that hazard is going to city.

As of today rvp to city is a goer.

Interestingly we had verbal agreements to sign both nasri and Sanchez last summer but both fucked us off when city and barca came calling.

We've been looking at strootman and witsel but city and real Madrid are keen.

We are NOT signing gaitan. Ever.

Maybe we should hope that City spend £70-80 million in the summer - simply to guarantee that they wont make the Financial Fair Play - and see what Platini does when that happens

I see my strap line has changed. Believe me, don't believe me. Let's wait and see.

Incidentally rvp to city is now nearly even money with some of the bookies. He was 5/1 a few days ago.

Thing is though it they get adebayor, Santa cruz, maybe tevez, dzeko off the wagebill that's a lot of money to pay new signings. De Jong will probably go too.

There's no way Uefa will fuzz them straight out of Europe. It will start with fines and shit.

Hazard to City at 5/1 looks tasty then?

We are 9/4 for the lad.

By 'Birdie' you mean tweets, right? Don't tell me you're getting this 'info' off of Twitter.

Also, I find it hard to believe any ITK's when it comes to United. I bet only Fergie, Gill and a few others know what we intend to do. Anyone would be lucky enough to know one of them, but an ITK that has sources at several clubs, I find hard to believe.

Why not? In 1985, after the Heysel stadium disaster, UEFA banned all English teams from European competition for 5 years - for an offence committed by the fans of one team, Liverpool.

Why would they hesitate to ban Manchester City for pissing all over UEFA's own rules. Will the CL be so much the poorer for the absence of City?

Don't understand the logic of people who say this.

The question is if they can legally enforce the ban. To me, it seems a too vague, too complex and too subjective (in terms of 'fair market value') rule to enforce.

I mean City have already stuck two fingers up at it with their absurd sponsorship deal. How many months ago was that? We still haven't heard anything from UEFA on it.

I'm just guessing on ffp. There are too many outs for Uefa.

I dont really know why anyone would think I'm making stuff up. I'm a faceless cunt on the Internet. I'm hardly saying look at me. You can't fucking see me. I've got nothing to gain if I'm right and will look a prize cunt if I'm not. I like posting on here and if I make myself look an utter twat then people will treat me like a div. I appreciate that I am a knob on match days but I think I contribute positively every so often!

He's not a source at numerous clubs. Has it occurred to you that, as I said weeks ago, united were interested if rvp decided to leave, but have been made aware that he wants to go elsewhere.

but you said earlier that Hazard is at the top of Spurs and City's transfer list. Plus that Real Madrid and others want Witsel and Strootman.

You can understand why it is hard to believe someone in this situation. If you are correct and your source isn't lying to you then fair enough.

Tell y'all what. Wait and see and then take the piss if I'm wrong. I'll tell you what I'll do. I won't post anything publically but choose one poster and I'll pm them bits and bobs as I get them. I won't derail any more threads and only he (or she) will know. However stuff turns out it can then be made public and you can mock or apologise at will. Fair?
