I reckon it comes from-as you say-having lots of the same type of player around. He seems to spend games watching people do what he does only better and also take up quite a few of the same positions. I wonder if you might not be better off putting your faith in Theo and mocing Nasri inside in preparation for the day when Fabregas leaves?

I want us to go back to 443 RvP in the centre of Nasri and Arshavin, with Song flanked by Fabregas and Diaby/Wilshere. Feo an option when Arseboy gets knackered at 60 mins.

The keeper situation is so bad that you'll just be fielding 11 outfield positions now and not bothering eh?

I would love us to sign Hazard, but as Pete says we've got so many similar players ATM.

Ill admit thats a bit clumsy. And I did not intend to give Sanchez any disrespect either. He is a great prospect, and I feel he has bigger potential (and are a better player) than Babel did, who I've never been a fan of.

But Hazard seems unique. You might claim that he got some of the same attributes as Sanchez, but sometimes you can also see a bit of Scholes in there. Sometimes youngsters seems desperate to make a killerpass or move every time they get the ball. Hazard, like Scholes, seem to know that this is not always the answer. I really like that mix.

Gunners leading chase for Hazard 05 January 2011 - 15:09 | Sport.co.uk

Quote:
Sport.co.uk understands that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is leading the chase to sign Lille’s Belgian international Eden Hazard.

The 19-year-old is held in high esteem by a number of Europe’s top clubs with the Premier League quartet of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea also thought to be monitoring the talented forward.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked with the two-time Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year, with Bernabeu Special Adviser Zinedine Zidane personally recommending the striker to the club.

While interest mounts in the forward a move during the January transfer window has been ruled out, however the heralded starlet is expected to seal a move away from Les Dogues when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

“There is a lot of interest in Eden currently as you would expect,” a source close to the player told Sport.co.uk.

“Which top club in football wouldn’t want to be interested in such a fantastic talent?

“But obviously one must look at the situation from the perspective of Lille. It is impossible to talk about a move in January even if the player wanted to leave.

“Lille are leading Ligue 1 and they want to finish the season competing at the top. However a move in the summer is possible, but we will have to look at what offers are on the table. “

When asked which club was leading the chase the forward, the source intimated that it was the Gunners who were currently showing the biggest interest.

“As I said many top managers and clubs are interested in Eden. Arsenal have a lot of French players, and Eden is from Belgium, so language would not be a problem. He is a talented young player like many of Arsenal’s players, but we will have to wait and see.”
It is not a surprise they are leading the chase but I will be gutted if he joins them though.

He'd be a good signing for us in my opinion. Valencia, Nani and Hazard would be 3 great options for two spots.

We had Di Maria about to sign for 4M euros until he realised he'd have to be parked in Spain for two years.

You just took 'a source' from sport.co.uk as proof that they are in fact leading the chase?

What?

They have always been leading the chase. Its like 12-18 months now. Plus he is a huge Arsenal fan. That is why I m not surprised.

I think we'll go for Sanchez if we buy another winger. Just a hunch.

Hazard even described the possibility of moving to North London as a "dream", something Wenger was keen to see come true.

"Let us try to make his dream come true," Wenger said.

"We are following him.

"Personally I think he has real talent and the level needed to play at Arsenal.

"But in the offensive department we have many players. At the end of the season we'll have a look at the situation."
Arsene admits he's interested in him.

I've not really seen enough of him to be sure if he'd be good or not.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will move for Eden Hazard when Lille make him available for transfer.

The French tactician is a long-term admirer of the Belgian winger and is keen to bring him to Emirates Stadium.

The 20-year-old starlet has already made over 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 club and been part of the first team for over three years.

However, Wenger is in no rush to get his man and with Lille riding high at the summit of the table he is against unsettling the league leaders' squad.

"He's a player that I have followed for some time, but I do not want to unsettle Lille now," explained Wenger.

"When he is available for transfer, we will see if there is the possibility to sign him."

Lille Director Rages Over Eden Hazard To Chelsea Rumours - Goal.com

Quote:
Following reports on Friday that Chelsea had been in contact with Eden Hazard over a possible move from Lille, Frederic Paquet, the director general of the Ligue 1 leaders, has issued an angry response.

The director claims that les Dogues’ board knows nothing of this advance, sending a strongly worded message to the young Belgian’s suitors.

“If Chelsea have contacted Eden, we are officially offended,” he declared, according to L’Equipe. “This is not the way things are done.

“It's been three years since Eden Hazard started interesting in the major European clubs. But nobody is selling. We are presently discussing with Eden how to go about conducting a long joint project. But maybe our message was not strong enough. We want to clarify it once again.”

Hazard is presently one of the hottest young talents in Europe, with his price tag envisaged to be upwards of €25 million.

Chelsea have previously courted controversy in the transfer market before, using illicit practises to draw Gael Kakuta from Racing Club de Lens.

Replaces Rosicky, either move Nasri to CM etc...

They do have room for him, not to mention with the news of Arshavin returning to Russia... I can see a big reason for Wenger to spend big on the lad.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United told Belgian ace will cost them £21m | talkSPORT
Quote:
Lille have named their price for Belgian wonderkid Eden Hazard - and that has put a host of Premier League clubs on alert.

The 19-year-old, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, and Arsene Wenger has confirmed he would be keen to sign him if he becomes available.

Hazard himself has previously expressed an interest in a move to the Premier League, but Lille have so far refused to sell.

But reports in France have revealed that the Ligue 1 side are now ready to do business for £21million in the summer - although Lille insist his departure is not inevitable.

"In the end of the season if someone is interested [in making a bid] we will study it and if not, nothing happens," Lille manager Rudi Garcia told French journalists.

"Hazard is a great asset to this club."

Eden Hazard warning to Arsenal and Liverpool: I'd rather play in Spain | Mail Online

Odd comment. Germany have great stadiums. England also has better stadiums than Spain.

He probably wants to join Barcelona or Real Madrid. Not go to Spain in particular.

He's clearly sounding out a move to Barcelona or Real.

He can join the likes of Ibrahim Afellay and Karim Benzema warming the bench.

Funny this... On a Belgian footbalsite, there's an article from today where Hazard says he's impressed with the some positive comments Wenger has made about him and also that Arsenal is 'an interesting club'...

I don't believe a word in that article from the Daily Mail.

By the way, he didn't start the game tonight because Lille are playing half their reserves in the europa league. They did the same thing last week. I think they want to focuss on the league since they are top of the league.

Better he goes to Spain than one of our rivals.

I can't see us signing him anyway. Arsene has been flirting with him consistently the last year or so, and he would probably pick City and Chelsea ahead of us as wel because of the money.

I would be surprised if he did. He's more likely to join Arsenal or Real Madrid and I think he would prefer us over Chelsea or City too. At least, that's what I figure what kind of guy he is based on the interviews I've seen from him.
