I still reckon we'll sign Diarra personally. Everyone seems to have forgotten about him, no other big club seems to be seriously interested in him. As the transfer window draws to a close he may get the impression his ship has sailed, as may Lyon feel the opportunity to cash in is fading. We may then be able to strike a deal at a reasonable price under £20m.

Seems a bit far out. Our transfers in the last few years havent ever come out of the blue have they? Almost each one of them were run in the media for weeks and weeks and there was a feeling of inevietability about them. Rooney was last minute, but even then most people knew we would probably get him.

That seems like a bit of a bit or a rubbish reason why we wouldn't sign someone. And secondly there is still a month for it to gather pace in the media.
