Chiellini, he's looked class. Very solid and without his interventions the Spain game would have been over long before extra time.

I seem to recall him playing well in the other games as well.

Sergio Ramos - ok, now I see what the fuss is about, but he's like a more polished Micah Richards, he uses his athleticism bale himself out of bad positioning or when he's pushed too far up the pitch. If Ramos is part of a makeweight deal for Ronaldo, there are worse players we could get.

David Silva - looks very fast and skillful but he might be too small to do well in the Premier League. He got bundled over or pushed off the ball by the Germans.

Pretty good keeper but we dont need one right now and wont need after VDS retires, we already have Foster and he looks like an awesome future number 1.

Agreed, did excellent against Torres and Villa.

Isn't that what they said about Fabregas?

He plays Left Back for his club Juventus, but i do agree that CB is probably his best position, he lacks a bit of pace to play well in the left back role.

We were close to signing him for a fairly cheap price two years ago, would've been a good signing.

I'm not sure if he was this good 2 years ago when we were chasing him but he would've been a perfect replacement for Keane. Very tidy in possession and clinical when tackling.

Agreed, although Michael Ballack might have something to say about that in the Final.

But, this hasn't been a tournament where a player has excelled in his position or stood out in front of everyone. This tournament has produced some exciting and intreging football but it showed how important team play is rather than a player standing out on his own.

He was, and for Spain he isn't even performing at the top of his game, his passing can be much more incisive and he has a quality shot on him. Still though, age isn't on his side.

I am. We just for some reason decided to buy British (Carrick and Hargreaves) instead of him. Age may have been a factor too.

Maybe. TBH that wouldn't change my opinion much.

I wonder. Certain sides look like they'd fall apart if one player was taken out. Ye they are amazing with him. That's what I see with Spain and Senna...

I Agree. He is the embodiment of a true defensive midfielder. A proper midfielder with real defensive nouse. Not the wrongly classified Makelele clique

Senna has been class in the Makelele role for Spain.

Well put. I think that is what England miss. Every successful international team in the Euro's have had a defensive midfielder who did their job well; Frings,Senna, Aurelio, Semak etc. Why people didn't realise that was the reason for Gerrard and Lampard not working together at international level makes no sense to me.

I agree with this, the reason, all of these teams had a nice EuRO was because of good DM, England did not qualify because they dont have any good DM's in their lineup, except from Hargo, which can't play because of Gerrard and Lampard wants to play in CM.
