Fergie wants an £18million Pal
MANCHESTER UNITED are poised to make an £18million swoop for Wigan ace Wilson Palacios.
SunSport understands the champions could nab the midfielder as early as January, although the deal is more likely to happen at the end of the season. We told you exclusively that United wanted Palacios, 24, last summer — but Latics boss Steve Bruce was desperate to keep him for one more year. A close pal of Palacios said: “You know the rapport between Steve Bruce and Alex Ferguson. They’re very close. “United have been following Wilson closely for some time. Steve benefited from his rapport with Sir Alex and was able to keep Wilson for six months or a year more. “Nothing is signed but there’s a moral agreement. Wigan have set the bar high, £18m. It’s possible it could be done in January.” Honduran Palacios has been a revelation in the Premier League since Wigan bought him for £1m from Birmingham last January. So have United recently — shrugging off their sluggish start with wins against Bolton and Blackburn plus a Euro triumph over Aalborg in the past 10 days. And Ferguson has warned his rivals they will be even BETTER after the international break. The United boss said: “We never usually settle until the international breaks are over. We’ll get back into the rhythm with West Brom at home. “Then in November you can expect us to really start going.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle1775902.ece |

Yeah he's a CM who had a trial at Arsenal and was recommended to Bruce at Brum, he's been excellent for Wigan but won't be coming to ManU or any other top 4 club.

Wow a quote for a "Close Friend" and then a unrelated quote from Sir Alex Ferguson, all in the undisputed printer of bullshit - The Sun Newspaper.
Anyone who thinks this piece of rubbish is worth discussion is a simpleton of the highest order. |

He's a good player lads - not worth £18m but that shouldnt detract from the fact that in the right team he could really mature into a top class player.
It all boils down to one thing aswell - In Fergie we trust - if he thinks he'd fit in then he will, its as simple as that! |

he's looking like becoming a top player now actually, but not sure if he's much different to what we have thru the middle already. Now £18M for him AND Valencia would be a good deal I think..........but anyway, the article is Sun bollox as usual

It's just The Sun trying to rescue a story were they ended up looking like complete fools.
In the week before our title match in Wigan they wrote that we would sign these four players. It was absolutely sure. Palacios Valencia Veloso Moutinho |

Palacios is a very good player, although we don't need him. That said, we know that once Fergie get's a hard-on for a player, that's generally it until he retires! Would rather Rodrigo get some games myself. Valencia may be more useful at this present time.
