Franck Ribery
Franck Ribery has attracted approaches from two English clubs but Marseille will not entertain the notion of selling their outstanding winger.
The France Under-21 international was outstanding in the European Championship play-off victory over England in front of scouts from a number of Premiership clubs. Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal are all rumoured to be monitoring his situation closely but the wide man is looking to stay at l'OM. "Two English clubs, I can't name them, called me to propose me concrete things for Franck," agent Bruno Heiderscheid told France Football. "But it is out of the question that Franck will leave l'OM yet. He is a player that needs stability now in his career." Marseille supremo Pape Diouf has compared the situation to Didier Drogba's exit to Chelsea for €33 million (£22.5 million). "We have not received any offer," stressed Diouf in L'Equipe. "There are some contacts, but we are completely impervious. "About Drogba, we were in a situation, notably on a financial level, that it was logical to sell him to Chelsea. "But the Drogba case bothered us so much that we are not keen today to renew it. Even if we get a fantastic offer for Franck Ribery, we agreed with the player and his agent to say he needs to improve. "Ribery is 22 years old and he needs steadiness at the highest level. "So I am clear - even seeing an astronomical offer, Franck Ribery is not for sale. "We want to make him one of the key players at l'OM tomorrow." http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...el=premiership Anyone know anything about this guy? |

Very good dribbling qualities, good passer, quite fast and scores a few goals. Good player but seems to be a bit of a moron to tell the truth...Many problems outside the pitch, including a fight in a night club last year. Left Galatasaray while under contract for financial reasons, weird character.

Great player, but not sure that he will keep playing this way for more than a year. Rothen was great for Monaco one year, but then he became useless for Paris, I just don't trust all these French promising players.

He was excellent against England U21's, has a bit of an attitude and a scar on his face to boot.
He can go past players with ease and seems to be able to play the right pass....but he's French so Arse will buy him. |

Reports are circulating in France that we are interested in Marseille midfielder and French Under-21 international Franck Ribery. Most of these reports have been generated with quotes from our Sporting Director Damien Comolli’s previews of the European Under-21 Championship play-off between England and France. The first leg of the play-off was at White Hart Lane and Damien happily used his knowledge of the French game to alert fans of the principal talents within the French squad - including Ribery - as we generated interest in that match. Damien commented: “Any stories linking us with a move for Ribery are pure speculation. Of course, we all know he is a wonderful player and we all enjoyed watching him at the Lane. I think I mentioned four players to watch - it doesn’t mean they are on my Christmas shopping list!” |

I have considered it for quite a few weeks. We have had discussions with his people and I think he is a great player. But he is similar to players who play in that position for us already like David Bellion and Kieran Richardson and I want to target players in other positions.

Tottenham target keen on Marseille stay
![]() 18:43 February, 6, 2006 Franck Ribery is not getting carried away by speculation linking him with some of Europe's top clubs The midfielder has been a revelation since his move to Marseille in the summer and has also impressed on his outings for the French under-21 side including a virtuoso display against England at White Hart Lane early on in the season. Spurs are one of a number of clubs linked with the player who has been quoted as saying: "My agent is handling all this. "I'm just happy to be here. I'm kind of the blue-eyed boy here. I want to stay. "Of course, I was delighted to learn that clubs are interested in having me in their team." |

Premiership Duo Miss out on French Winger
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to miss out on Marseille winger Franck Ribery. The French star has said he would prefer to a move to Spain then England. Real Madrid have also made known of there interest. "I heard that said [about Real's interest]," he told But. "But that does not preoccupy me. "My agent takes care of that. "There are clubs that are very interested in me but I am very well here. It pleases me to hear it said that clubs like that are very interested in me. "It proves that I am doing good work with my club." "I prefer Spain to England," he emphasised. "I like it a lot because there are a lot of technical players. "In England, it is different. "There are more duels and fight. I like Spanish football very much." |

Deco dives even when he drives a car so there's nothing that can stop him.
But in fact he dived many times during Euro 2004 and his average diving rate in that tournament is higher than his ADR in LA Liga. ADR, yes, ADR. |
