Manchester United linked with 'new Kaka' Paulo Henrique - report
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Santos prodigy Paulo Henrique, according to The Mirror. The talented youngster has been dubbed ‘the new Kaka’ and is being chased by a host of European clubs including United, Bayern Munich, Juventus and both Milan clubs. Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is only looking to add one or two players to his squad this summer but with his preference to bring in young players with potential for the future, Henrique could prove to be an attractive option for the United manager. The 20-year-old was tipped to be included in Dunga’s Brazil squad for the World Cup, after scoring 11 goals in 20 league appearances, but he failed to make the final cut for South Africa. Santos president Alvaro Luis Ribeiro insists that the player is not for sale this summer but it remains to be seen whether the lure of one of Europe’s top sides will be too much for Henrique to resist. |

Jesus, I know it's just a highlights reel but this guy looks unreal. Ganso and Neymar look like the two future stars of Brazil, whoever gets hold of them has some real prospects on their hands.

Well Guti and Kaka are rather different players. Guti is, or rather "was" clearly Kaka's superior when it comes to creativity, and also a tireless worker. Despite of never getting big chances for Spain, he always has been a vital part of Real Madrid, contributing to several La Liga's and a couple of Champions League's. Being compared to Guti should not be laughable at all.
I am not sure Kaka should be considered a midfielder, to me he is more of a secondary striker. He don't have the physical game to contribute to the defense a lot, something you have to do as a midfielder, regardless if your main function is to attack. |

But in the last couple of seasons he's shown why he's always been rated highly with some superb passing displays. As for the comparison, well Kaka is right footed and fast along the ground when he gets going. Judging from the video Ganso is left footed and not the fastest, I can see why the Guti comparison is used. |

Guti's problem has always been that he is excellent once every five or so games. To be fair, average for Guti is still better than most players, in terms of what he is able to do with a football, but the problem is that, unlike say Xavi or Iniesta, who are both tactically disciplined and willing to work for the team, Guti is lacking in the areas that are necessary if you are going to be included at the heart of any big team, and particularly when your performances are not sufficiently consistent enough to warrant a luxury player of that type.
And in that sense, Guti could be perfect for a lesser club, in a similar sense to De La Pena for Espanyol, although at least De La Pena has the mobility (and only sometimes the determination) to work for the team. Players like that, despite being more talented than many of players that are regulars for most big clubs, often lack that extra something that is necessary at the highest level, and particularly over a sustained period. And that's the point that I keep making about not allowing yourself to become solely focused on particular attributes at the expense of others that are just as, if not more so, essential to sustained success at the highest level. |

I was very impressed with the youtube vids, but has anyone seen this lad play a whole 90 mins ?
Is his work rate good ? Does he have the flair ? Is he similar to Anderson ? Is he two footed ? Lots of question marks but for a 20 yr old. I was deeply impressed. |

Manchester United representatives have made contact with Santos about young midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso.
Manchester City are believed to have first refusal on the 20-year-old as a result of the deal struck over City's on loan striker Robinho. Ganso (which means Swan – his real surname is Lima) made his breakthrough with Santos and Brazil’s Under 20s last season. The player’s attitude to a possible move to Manchester reflects the image problem that City have in Brazil where interest is generally confined to the ‘big four’ in the Premier League. Ganso, however, could be forgiven for having only a passing knowledge of the rich history and traditions of a club that hasn’t won anything for 33 years.
