Which German player you hope plays for United?

I hope one day we'll sign Lahm or Poledoski. Really like both of them. Both looks a class and humble player. Don't really fancy any other german players.

Well we are gonna need soon a Lahm. We cant expect Brown to fill on there for the rest of his career.

Thats the only one for me.

Anyway the germans are full of talent and Podolski, Schweins..., Mertesacker looks class.

always wanted ballack to play for united. still think he is a top player.

but he's on the wrong side of thirty and is at cska so that's not viable anymore.

lahm and podolski for sure. toni kroos definately.

schweinsteiger would be great for the squad (don't think he is first XI united talent).

however, i don't think we'll be signing any german players anytime soon unfortunately.

we've never had one for 130 years, don't think we'll be starting anytime soon.

does hargreaves count?

Lahm would be a good replacement for Wes Brown, but I'd go for the slightly more experienced Hans-Peter Briegel.

Nowt wrong with Wes Brown, deserves to keep his place. We have enough back-up in Hargreaves, Gaz and Simpson.

Russians are the way forward not feckin Germans anyroad.

Russia are the new Brazil.

Not really, im not talking just by watching him in the Euro, he is the real leader of the defence in both Bremen and their National team not Metzelder and is only 23.

We had a german kid before but only for reserves, I think his name is Markus Neumayr (sp?) and also Zieler.

Does that count?

yeah i know about those two but i was meaning first team performance.

it is quite weird to be honest.

germany is one of the biggest footballing nations in the world and IMO the most succesful footballing nation in europe(3 time world cup winner, 7 time world cup finalist, 3 time european champion, 5 time finalist) and we've never had a player from germany in our history.

its not like germans can use the weather argument as much either like spanish, portugeezers, south americans, southern italians can.

we've had players from south korea, china, the US, south africa, etc...but not germany. crazy.

The funny thing is they all are at Bayern Munich and we all know what happened the last time we wanted a Bayern player.

According to the Italian media Schweinsteiger's contract should run out at 2009 so Bayern may think of selling him now. He is a decent talent but no Ronaldo.

Haha thinking of selling him ffs. He is a german lad, pretty young and plays for their national team. Even if his contract runs next summer he will be renewing it soon. Remember Klinsmann is their new manager and that means he wont be leaving as he is fundamental to his plans.

Also he is part of the few wingers they have with Ribery, Kroos, Sosa and Altintop.

I dont know mate. German players tend to see the Bundersliga as a stepping stone to something better. We are CL winners after all.

do u think he has the talent to be in our first XI?

i've always liked schweini's game for die mannschaft, enough that i can see him being a quality addition to our bench, but not a first choice winger in our XI.

There are better options, there again he is not a bad player. You wont find good wingers on cheap at the moment. Quarasema is rated 30m sterling for example. That is why I believe that, if Ronaldo leaves, we should at least involve Robinho in the deal.

agreed, he's a very solid player.

i'm also in agreement with you in that i think multiplayer + cash deal would be better than straight cash.

robinho (since robben's fitness can't be counted on) + sneijder + 30 to 40 million.

We'd have to buy him skis and get a whole new surface with snow on it at Old Trafford for him to play... The Pole does ski...

Lahm of course, he is one of the best fullbacks in the world, brilliant at left and right and has been exellent for Bayern and Germany for years.

Him aside i would take a punt for Podolski and Schwiensteiger. Bastien would be a good signings, he is an intelligent player and has two good feet. He won't score 20 goals a season but i feel he can make a very telling contribution as he is more of a rounded attacking threat than the likes of Nani/Park/Giggs.
