Guti In January?

United to sign Madrid star

Manchester United reported to sign £4m Real Madrid midfielder, Guti in January

Manchester United are set to sign experienced Real Madrid midfielder Guti in the January transfer window.

Reports in Spain say both United and City are tracking the 33-year-old, which could great experience in both squads.

Guti has currently been ignored by Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini after they had a furious row and since set his sights on moving to the Premier League.

“It’s a difficult situation for both of us,” Guti said, in regards to his relationship with Pellegrini.

Pellegrini has left Guti out the first team since Real Madrid's 4-0 cup defeat by third division Alcorcon in October.

The rift continued when Guti stated in an interview that he likes the odd night out, “I’m a guy who never stops, day and night. I like to enjoy the night with my friends,” he added.

“When I am 60-years-old, I won’t be going to a disco until six in the morning, but I am now,” he said in the interview with Maria Zabay, according to La Gaceta.

If there is anyone who could tame the Spanish international its Sir Alex.

This could be a great acquisition for a player that has tremendous experience and flair which would suit United's style.

Great, exactly what we need, another old attacking midfielder.

He's a good player, but we don't need a 33 year old. Let's buy a young attacking midfielder and stick them in there.

The guy is about as consistent as mashed potatoes, no thanks. We already have someone who can hit 1 wonderpass per game (Anderson).

Also, anyone would have a nightmare getting his shirt because he sticks stupid letters at the back of his shirt. Could you imagine walking round with a "Guti.Haz" at the back of you?

I would seriously question Fergies judgement if this came true. Guti would be a ridiculous addition to the squad.

It wouldn't be the first time Ferguson has brought in an ageing player to bolster the team (Blanc, Sheringham and Larsson off the top of my head). But saying that, the article is clearly a complete fabrication. Neither of the quotes mention Manchester United.
