If the unthinkable happens which wingers are there.

God forbid and I know that the press likes to see newspapers on the back of United, but if our king decided to move to Spain which winger could United get to well not full Ronaldos boots but would be a more than decent option and replacement.

Please only those ones that could be available its pointless saying Messi has we know he is going no were.

There's nobody like him really. I'm sure we'd move on and continue to be successful - but an immediate replacement ? Nope - there ain't one

I would go for Zarate as I think he's got real potential the boy. When you say winger - Ronaldo isn't really a typical winger so floating round the place he'd be a very good buy, I believe, if he can maintain his form and listen to the right people

Then - even though manucho is hopefully coming, I think it would be important to buy another forward because we'd be losing a massive threat. Who that would be is hard to say. Eto'o would do but his character is questionable.

There's always the possibility of promoting the likes of a campbell or wellbeck. All In all I think it won't be worth us selling and we won't . Happy days

To be fair, the guy asked "well not full Ronaldos boots but would be a more than decent option and replacement". We all know nobody's as good as him, but what are the best options?
(Maybe this should be in the transfer muppets forum, but some of us don't really go in there much, for obvious reasons!)

Kieran Richardson or Gary Mcsheffery.

With the money we get for Ronaldo we should also buy Messi, Benzema, Lahm, Torres, Kaka, Pele and Maradona.

Yeah, and we would move to 4-3-3 for most of the time as it's difficult to find a replacement for Ronaldo so a mobile centre midfield with Tevez, Benzema and Rooney in front of it would be possible.

What about Bentley and Huntelaar though? You know, crosses and headers!

Messi doesnt score 40 goals a season and gets injured pretty easily.

There is no feckin' player out there.

Going with what the thread starter is asking instead of going onto some irrelevant crap I'll say the next best winger after Ronaldo/Messi is Ribery. I think Quaresma has a lot of talent but obviously his attitude is a problem and the way he plays also, if Ferguson could mould him in the way he did Ronaldo then that would be interesting.

If you're looking for a striker then Benzema is going to be one of the best or a striker mobile enough to play on the wing maybe Aguero.

Obviously none of these would be able to replace Ronaldo but still may as well answer the question.

If the team who won their domestic league and could quite possibly end up with the double including the champions league sell their best player, then nobody is off the market. Yes, I'd take Messi as a replacement.

Not enough. Should command the same fee as ronaldo as he's only 20 and the second best player on the planet.

And only quaresma is similar to ronaldo. Him and nani are like junior clones.

The fee we'd get for Ronaldo would easily pay for Messi, if he wanted to move on. That would be the stumbling block - chances are he wouldnt like to move on just yet. Barcelona are at a weekend state at the moment however.

quaresma is 24 and in 111 games over 4 years for porto hes got just 25 goals.
I always thought that he promised alot when he was younger but kind of failed to deliver. he seems like a bit of an arse aswell, i would be gutted if we signed him to replace ronaldo.

There is no fee for messi because he can't be sold. The whole board would be sacked in barcelona. Messi is there rooney to us the heartbeat.
