Joseph Anthony Barton

Don't usually bother with the muppet forum but my nephew was messaging me on the internets the other day. He's a ST holder at St. James' and sits next to a lad who works for the local newspaper.

He was telling me Joey Barton's on his way to the scouse in the summer.

I just saw this Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish mulls £5m move for Newcastle bad boy Joey Barton | Mail Online so there could be something in it.

Could be a decent signing for them, or a disaster.

I'm hoping for the latter if it happens.

Well I wouldn't have a hard time hating him if it did happen.
Would probably be a good signing though.

£5m seems low.

Makes sense. He can cross. That's why Carroll and Nolan scored so much. Need that 5m to make the 35m look good.

Great player, piss poor attitude, even more reason to hate him. Fine with me!

Sadly, he's a signing that would improve Liverpool...

They'd be better off with Joey than Charlie IMO.

The scouse are supposed to be sniffing around Enrique, they may as well strip the Geordies of Nolan while they're at it.

35m for Carroll in the bank...? They'll buy nobodies and go down next season.

Oh this should make for an even more volatile rivalry next match, if true. Finally, LFC will have a character to fill the Fowler cunt role. He'll no doubt hold up his hand too.

would have thought they would have to pay a bit more than £5m for him.

on a side note doesn't he hate Liverpool?

Barton's a good player regardless of his cuntishness, would work out well for both parties if it was to go through.

Yeah he's a decent enough player but I reckon he's found his level at Newcastle, to be honest.

Typical Liverpool signing if ever there was one.

Sensible move for both parties. Barton is a good footballer and i'm sure Carroll will score a lot more with him in the the team.

I think for £5million he would be a very good signing, he has had a fantastic 18 or so months and has really found the form that made him such a bright prospect. Was always a complete cock but seems to have matured and grown up this season. He has also added a new dimension to his game by playing out right, some of his crossing has been particularly impressive.

I fear if he went to Liverpool he could turn out to be a very good signing, or another Joe Cole, the latter would be nice but I fear the former.

Good quality footballer there, I'd be sad to see him in a scouse shirt

Dunno how they'd fit him in though with Merieles, Gerrard, Shelvey and Spearing - maybe Aquilani aswell

Looks like Liverpool might be assembling a decent squad, similar to Villa of a couple years ago. Will they get back into CL contention next season?

Wonder if they're still interested in Dempsey.

Would be a good signing for Liverpool. He's fairly underrated because of his shenanigans, but he can give Liverpool some bite and a bit of quality in the centre of the park.

Only a year left after this I think - and on big money at newcastle.

Heard that rumour up here in the 'toon a few months ago. He's had a good season to be fair and seems to be putting his bad behaviour behind him (cue massive punch up in his next game)

Using famous people's middle names is creepy, like you'd see on fan sites or in slasher fictions.

I'll go on record as saying Barton will never be welcomed by Liverpool fans and I reckon Kenny will know that.

A bigger cunt there isn't. Even Robbie Savage comes in second place to him.

But he is a good player. If he plays well the fans will support. Fans are a fickle bunch.

He is a decent player, no more. I would have Lucas, Gerrard & Meireles ahead of him every time.

Add his cuntishness to that and it is a no-brainer. Not welcome. End of.

£5m is money well spent if its true.

He signed Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, they're not exactly paragons of virtue are they?

can't see Joseph Anthony going for 5 million - i would expect around 12/15 if I was the barcodes given the season he's had - Newcastle would be really stupid to sell their 2 best players inside 6 months as well

I think he'll stay unless Liverpool made a stupid andy carroll style offer

He's the type of player Liverpool need.Someone with balls who won't hide away when things are going wrong. He's grown up in the fast few years and his past actions will continue to haunt his career. Good player IMO.

He wouldn't get in the side ahead of Lucas, Moreiles or Gerrard so I don't see the point.

I think Spurs would be a better destination for him if he wants game time.

He'd be a good buy regardless.

Really?

He wouldn't get in ahead of Huddlestone or Modric and if Sandro continues to develop I can't see him getting games in the middle their either.

He would be an option for them on the right though I guess.

#NUFC officials met Joey Barton this morning and told him he can leave on a free transfer. Club statement to follow.
