Keane For Lpol...

Don't you guys think lpol can sign better player rather than signing him for that amount, nor that i care that much, but i can't understand why is he valued that highly, maybe because i haven't rated him...

Agreed.

A good, hard-working, honest journeyman. Just not a striker for the very best clubs.

He'll be a better option for them than Voronin, and is better than Crouch (who is still actually a decent player who they should have played more)

They still lack quality wide players and are more interested in swamping the middle of the pitch.

The class of Torres meant they could afford to do this at home last season and still win games.

Its not rocket science that, but the point with that much money involved something like 20 mp,i think there is better option around like villa and etoo, good there are still signing players that will help them finish 4th...Keane is good for midtable clubs not for top clubs imo..

Keane and Torres means Gerrard in a two man midfield again.

he's at Liverpool's level though, slightly above mediocre, so he'll fit there just fine. I'd be much more worried if they were after Villa.

thats a bold statement. Robbie Keane has been a consistent goal scorer for many a year in the PL - even when he's been at midtable clubs. He's fast skilful and a hard worker, and in a better side will probably improve further.

While players from English clubs attract higher transfer fees they have the advantage of being able to slot straight into the hustle and bustle of the PL, rather than ahaving to waith to see if they can settle.

The point with both Villa and Eto'o is whether they would be able to settle in the PL. Eto'o has been excellent in Spain but also comes with an apprent cloud over him in terms of his attitude. Villa would cost considerably more than £20 million and if he was available the top clubs in Spain would be first in the queue. You alsio have to consider how much these lads would want in wages compared to keane. Over a 5 year deal that all adds up.

Signing players isn't always about getting the biggest name. Sometimes a player like Keane can be the missing link in a side like Carrick was for United.

I would say hes at the level of a team who'd finish around 4th, 5th or 6th.

He's a good player who'll definitely improve them but if I were them I'd save up my money and buy a new really top class striker next season.

If Torres is our first striker on Liverpool then Keane is a very good 2...on any team. Who's uniteds second best?

Keane is a good player but like a poorer version of David Villa. They should break the bank for Villa but they won't. Keane is still a good striker and will improve them though.

Keane at least is a step up from previous signings and a decent prem striker.

I used to like him as a player. Fat cunt.

His goal scoring record speaks for itself. Big fee though and I cant see Torres and him having anywhere near as good a partnership as Keane-Berbatov.

He'll improve them. I've said it for years that I always thought he'd end up there.

My scouse mate reckons they'll play him wide right, which would make the deal pretty poor for both Keane and Liverpool.

If we sign Berbatov, then either him, Rooney, or Tevez. Take your pick of the three.

I'm not convinced about Keane at all. He's too erratic, and has a lot of poor games. Still, he's got bags of talent, and is better than what you currently have (i.e. nobody). If it works out he could be a very good signing, but there's defninitely an if.

Tevez is a more effective player than Rooney at this point in time.

Uh-o. Not a Rooney or Tevez debate.

They are both better than Keane.

Never rated Keane that highly but he will improve Liverpool from what they have got currently unlike Barry.

Keane is quality. He's become a 20+ goal a season man and he also has a knack of scoring when it matters. He's good on the ball, quite quick and scores all sorts of goals.
