Well, the Yak and Jo has managed a total of nil league goals so far this season, add Cahill to that and they'll have two. With Saha being their best player but injury prone, a striker on loan makes sense. If he's any good. He takes a terrible penalty, that's all I know.

now that you mention it he does look like Iniesta. Same father, has to be! didn't know Iniesta's dad is a Canadian.
Laphroaig: Donovan is very good at penos. just fecked up at the MLS cup but normally he buries them. |

Good question. I like him out wide for the US because that seems to be the best place to slot him in given the rest of the talent on the team, but to be honest, I haven't watched enough of Everton. A partnership with Saha would be intriguing.

I like him wide for the USA because at least he will do some tracking back where as Dempsey leaves a gaping hole out there. Personally think Bradley should opt for a 4-3-3 in the WC and push Dempsey and Donovan forward with whichever center forward he chooses (Altidore, Ching, Cooper, Cunningham, damn that's a crap list). Damn you Davies!
I think England might suit Donovan better than Germany. He is a good passer, decent at set pieces but not so sure about his crossing. |

He's the US team's most talented player and I think he could make it at Everton if he wants to. |

dunno how Becks does it tbh but at the same time this would probably the last year for him. can't see him making the England team for Euro 2012 qualifications. |

He's an excellent player. He did very well at the world cup in 2002, and he was decent in 2006. He also played a major role in the US run to the finals of the confederations cup last summer. I'm not sure why things didn't work out for him in Germany, but Everton is about his level. I think this is a good move for all parties.

I honestly think he's wanting to prove he can hack it in Europe to make his "legacy" legit outside the US and amongst some of his peers that have achieved in Europe. I reckon all the naysay has finally gotten to him. I figure if things pan out good for him during this loan, he might just make a permanent switch. I'm still baffled why he chose Germany the last time after having failed there twice. His style is better suited for England or Spain.
Makes me wonder just what kind of player he might have developed into under the vision of SAF or Wenger. More so mentally. He was a bit of a primadonna early in his career. |

I don't know him well but he's a playmaker, isn't he? Everton lack flair players imo, they have overabundance of donkeys in the middle. Whenever Arteta comes back, him, Bilyaletdinov and Donovan may add some creativity to their attack.

I wonder if Beckham has questioned his commitment to the Galaxy after hearing this news?

Yeah, he's missing out on the massive gay scene in LA.

He went to Germany because he is friends with Klinnsman. They have trained together for years. Didn't work out in Germany because of numbers. They have two older more established strikers and the front office believed the other spots should go to younger, up and coming strikers for development. Said they saw no reason to give the spot to an older striker. (And that's the position he was playing). Klinsman wanted him. Scored 5 goals in preseason for them. Not bad. |
