He not an EXCELLENT player.

He is a decent player.

No better than what they have. And they are already stacked with midfielders!

It pleases me though, if it is true. £10m spent on a player that won't imporve them at all.

He's average so he'll fit right in at Liverpool.

Excellent

£10m for a midfielder without any pace at all to play at left back

He has proved himself to be one of the top midfielders in England. Rafa seems to want the Premier League so badly he will buy one of the players who regularly stars in it.

I heard that too.

But Barry is no better than Alonso (who was their best player on the pitch against Chelsea). It's a like for like replacement. No improvement to their squad whatsoever.

Which pleases me.

Gaweth Bawwy will be stupid to leave Villa for Liverpool. Villa are on the rise, they have an inspiring and energetic manager, a great stadium and the owner comes across as a decent bloke (thus far) and one happy to back the team and the manager.Mark my words, with a few decent signings this summer, Villa will be a top five club in no time.

Barry would make a negligible impact; hardly value for money.

Meh, I suppose. But I think he's a good player, and can do a decent job at left back for them. He's left footed aswell, it would add a good balance to thier midfield.

What they need is 2 proper wingers and a stiker, so I'm glad they're buying midfielders

Good news

10 mil less to spend on wingers, full-backs and a striker, when they've already got Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Leiva in centre midfield

As has been said, why? I would have thought they are in far greater need of a couple of quality wingers, a full back, even a striker. Maybe they will play Barry at left mid?

Fuck sake. We don't know how much money we'll have, if any, to spend on players. So instead of going for wingers and a striker, we're going for a central midfielder (which means Alonso would probably leave - more bad news) at an inflated price, brilliant. Oh, and we might lose Crouch in the process, I hope this is just poppycock.

Definitely not poppycock. Martin O'Neill confirmed it in his pre-match press conference.

solid player. i think they'll still buy someone like david silva/david villa class and barry is their secondary buy. kind of like last term with torres being their main buy and babel secondary.

that said, i wouldn't leave if i was barry because i think villa are truly up and coming..though that phrase is used all too often.
