Why not?
You might be on to something there.

No official word yet from City but unofficially as soon as they can pick themselves up off from the floor from laughing a proper response will be shortly released. But insiders at City do not expect this announcement any time soon as the laughing fit is expected to go on for a few months at least.

If skysports news told me the grass was green I'd go out and check it.
They would say anything to get you to stay tuned and look at their adds all day

You can't blame them for enquiring.

Thought Marwood confirmed it and stated they weren't interested?

How embarrassing for the dippers, especially after KK has spent seemingly countless interviews defending Carroll. Now they've been outed as secretly plotting to swap him for a player who obviously doesn't want to play in England.

Maybe the owners made an enquiry behind his back.

Tevez is lightyears ahead of him in every way. Won't happen though.

They have to fill the papers with something....whether there is an element of truth in it or not, that's something else...

It's not ridiculous from Liverpool's perspective.

I buy the Observer regularly, but tend not to read the sport because I've already read all the stories on here or on BBC, and because even the respectable papers are not very reliable.

It's on the front page of the Sunday Times too. Came from a source at Man City who said they rejected the offer immediately. Liverpool denied it.

Doubt it, but if true, it would destroy his confidence probably even more

I'm sure it's true but it's unforgivable of Liverpool to let it leak out. Very unfair on Carroll.

Tevez would be a good fit at Liverpool - that whole tribal thing he revels in would fit in well at Anfield.

Good point. Either way, they'll do well now if Carroll's confidence isn't totally fucked.

Suarez - Tevez seems like a rather odious strike partnership.

If true, it is a very poor and ill advised move by Liverpool. Firstly, there is absolutely no chance of City ever accepting such an absurd offer. Secondly, it is anecdotal evidence, suggesting to other clubs, that there are serious problems with Carroll's ability or attitude and thirdly, it undermines the confidence of a player that is clearly struggling badly to find some.

I don't think City were adverse to letting Tevez join Liverpool, after all Tevez is never going to play for them again, is finding a club and is more interested in spending time on the golf course.

The only reason they rejected it was because they didn't want Andy Carroll near their club!

Looks like Dalglish was wound up by City leaking it.

I believe my presence is now needed in this thread, due to my username. I will make it my mission to comment on every possible swop deal I hear about.

On this alleged swop deal, I'll say the following:

Carlos Tevez is heavy.
