The agent of Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has responded furiously to suggestions in French sports paper L'Equipe that his client is on the verge of a move to Real Madrid.
Arnold Oosterveer was also particularly riled that the story claimed Vincenzo Morabito was Huntelaar's representitive. Oosterveer said: "This is ridiculous. I didn't know this story but I can tell that all that is printed there is nonsense. "There is no contact with Real Madrid or any other club for the matter about Huntelaar. "Morabito is not the agent of Klaas-Jan and we have in the past already rapped him over the knuckles. Unbelievable. It's also a shame that a renowned sports paper like L'Equipe prints this rubbish." FFS .Guess you can't believe anything nowadays. |

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not on the verge of a move to Real Madrid according to the player’s agent Arnold Oosterveer.
French sports paper L’Equipe had reported another agent Vicenzo Morabito saying that the player was set to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but Oosterveer was keen to distance his client from the claim. Oosteveer said: "This is ridiculous. I didn't know this story but I can tell that all that is printed there is nonsense. "There is no contact with Real Madrid or any other club for the matter about Huntelaar. "Morabito is not the agent of Klaas-Jan and we have in the past already rapped him over the knuckles. There is fresh doubt over Klaas Jan Huntelaar's long-term future at Ajax after the Holland striker failed to agree a new contract with the club.
Huntelaar has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal. Ajax technical director Danny Blind admitted to De Telegraaf that contract talks had failed in large part because Huntelaar wanted a release clause written into the deal but felt Ajax wanted to set the price too high. "When you look at the Ajax salary structure he could get a huge deal," Blind said. "But he doesn't want to see a release clause set at 25million euros (£19.75million) in his contract. We didn't want to go any lower." However, Blind insists the breakdown in talks does not mean Huntelaar will leave the club any time soon. "We don't want to see Klaas Jan leave us," he said. "The bar is high. We would like to keep our top scorer in Amsterdam. If he doesn't want to sign a new contract, he still has a deal for the next two years." Blind also holds out hope that Huntelaar might reconsider. "The negotiations are stalled," he said. "We have agreed on the fact that Ajax will speak with all clubs that come in for Huntelaar. If the interested clubs don't want to pay what we we ask for, then we hope that we can start new talks with Klaas Jan again." |

I've thought long and hard about it, and I'm giving SAF the all clear to make a substantial offer for The Hunter. He offers something very different from Roo, Tev and Saha/Campbell, and with Ron departing probably withit 2 years we might go back to a more basic 4-4-2 in the not too distant future. Having a targetman/goalgetter extraordinare will be gold then.

Technically Ruud leaving had a lot to do with United's transformation. But this is due to the fact it gave Ronaldo more freedom to play. It's actually in my opinion got nothing to do with formations or even style of play. The current system United employ seems to be based more around Ronaldo's strengths if anything. If Ronaldo was to leave then a player like Huntelaar could suit us as it is important then to change our style.

If we bought Huntelaar we wouldn't revert back to the style of play we played with when Ruud was here, it would just add to the variation. Different styles for different scenarios can only improve things. I don't want him here but far too many make the comparison between a pure goalscorer and shit on a stick football. Our personnel has changed and our style of play has changed with it, one signing will not ruin the whole system.

I'm against the idea but you are stuck on the idea of our front man needing pace. |

It's not about the pace. It's about his complete lack of ability outside the box. He's one of those that will go invisible for large amounts of time and only come alive when the ball is put into the box. He'll be a very good goal scorer for anyone who builds the team around creating chances for him. He'll be rubbish for anyone who doesnt, because thats all he contributes. |

His goalscoring record for Holland is good and they sure as hell don't build the team around him, not in the slightest. |

For us to do that... Rooney is playing left wing... again. I'd certainly prefer to keep Rooney and Tevez as the first choice partnership. And if we're bringing in a 3rd choice, its going to need to be someone who can come straight into our current tactics, like Saha could. Besides, I read an article a few months ago where Hunterlaar was saying he wants to be first choice. |

Very disappointed this Real link seems like its bullshit, I was really hoping they would get him putting an end to all the Huntelaar speculation, definitely think we can do much better

![]() I really cannot see us buying him, so it wouldnt bother me if the Real story was bullshit. There's a chance he'll still be at Ajax next season even. I wonder what people would be saying. |
