Ajax probably do need the cash in all honesty. They just spent around £12m on another young star who'll probably move on for twice as much next year and I'm sure they are constantly ploughing money into their youth system. It's not as if they are cash rich.

And it could be that your theory of no-one wanting him and him just using the Cryuff-Bergkamp thing as a back-up if he doesn't get the move he wants, I was just making sure you look at it from more than one view point.

Well, I think they could offload several of their others players who do want to move on. As you said, they are a selling club and almost everyone who joins through the academy or from other dutch clubs, does so for a short term with a longer term idea of a career at another club, most likely in another league.

Afterall, Ajax didnt even make the champions league this season. You'd think maybe they'd like to partner Sulimanji, their new signing, with Hunterlaar and make sure they come back well next season and make sure they get their champions league place and the money and attraction to young players that comes with it.

So, if he does want to stay, I would think they'll want to keep him as they wont get someone better to replace him and could most likely sell other players to get the cash they need, as they do every year. Its quite unlikely they wouldnt be able to recoup what they have spent on those who do wish to leave. And as far as I know, nobody has been turfed out of Ajax mid way through their career becaause the club needed the money. Especially not what people on here consider their best player.

And by the by, I'm sure there are lots of sides out there who want him. Just perhaps not the absolute elite clubs that he'd perhaps want to join. I was just pushing the point that its entirely possible that he'll stay at Ajax next year with no move... And had not even the foggiest that he'd come out and said that he doesnt want to move. Nobody was mentioning it on here, thats for sure.
