Manchester City defender Richards back on United list
DAILY MAIL:
Manchester United are set to step up their bid to sign Micah Richards from neighbours City, with the England defender's future at Eastlands looking increasingly uncertain. Sir Alex Ferguson thought his immediate chances of landing Richards had been scuppered when the 19-year-old agreed a new five-year deal worth in the region of £2.3million-a-year. But doubts over Sven Goran Eriksson's future and a belief that City may want to cash in on their £20m-rated asset to fund new signings have left Richards considering his options. |

After the way they capitulated at Boro today, and with Sven being booted out so that Shinawatra can score points with the Thai public, I won't be surprised if there are a lot of players wanting out. Dunne and Richards especially. Elano and Petrov would also be attractive targets for a lot of teams.

moving from City to United isn't as unlikley as moving from one of the top four and it would make snese for him not having to move very far. |

Its clear there's more than meets the eye to Neville's injury - he's been supposedly fit for weeks but wasn't even picked when Vidic was out and Brown had to move into the centre. Even if he does come back he cant be relied on so its clear a good right back is a priority. |

We arent signing Lahm this year - as much as I'd love it. And Richards is a CB. |

Agree there, devilish. A striker is the number one target. We can't struggle another season (not bad for a struggling team, mind you) with two strikers and leftovers of Saha. Like I said on another thread, if Gary has a good pre season, then we can actually go on another year with what we've got at the back. We can play Gary, Wes, even Hargo if needed at right back. Though if we can bring a younger specialist right back it would obviously be better.
Can't see City selling Richards to us, anyway. |
