Has this already been posted? Apologies if it has:

Third choice keeper I presume for next year. Loan out Amos at the same time, if Butland turns out to be any good he can then compete with Amos for number 2 spot and potentially compete with De Gea for the number 1 jersey.
The fact that he is 19 means we wouldn't have to put him in the 25 man squad for a couple of years as well. |

I want to say first that we've some quality young english goalkeepers like Amos, Forster, Stockdale and Butland at the moment but Butland has the biggest potential for me, he'll be 100% in the England team in a couple of years.
But Butland needs games in the next years therefore he must make really the right steps in his career. We're having De Gea and Lindegaard as our goalkeepers for the next years. Like said Amos is big talent too but he should go on loan in the next seasons. |

A young well rated English GK to use as a Number 2/3 with perhaps the long term goal of giving De Gea a challenge for £3 million.
I'd make that deal, damn good deal. |

"England Team" isn't starting XI
![]() I hope Hart will have a long future as England's number one but we all know it goes fast in football. Many people are talking about Butland like many people have talked about Hart a couple of years ago. |

tbf, I don't think it did Foster any good being 'stuck' at United for so long going nowhere. What would be Butland's future at United? |

Some highly-qualified people believe Butland will be even better than Hart.
Would be surprised if we were'nt in for him bearing in mind missing out no Hart etc and fact he is going cheap now. I'm 90 per cent certain he will not sign for United though. Others in for him who can offer better first-team football prospects. |

The club has always been scouting for great young talents and then get them in if they think the kids will one day be good enough for United, regardless of how they would fit into the team the moment they do. I think the philosophy must be something like: there's nothing to lose if they eventually become better than what we already have.

he is the most promising GK'ing talent in the country.
over 50 scouts watching each of his matches when he was on loan at Cheltenham for the first half of the season. was recalled back to Brum in January before being sent back out to Cheltenham again. was unstoppable in his first spell, but has had a slightly rockier time since returning. England U21 int'l at 18 and is a far better prospect than Amos. the thing is, GK's need games and need to play. with Lindegaard and De Gea (who is only 21!) i don't see United as a favourable move for Butland. remember the name though. between him, Stockdale, Foderingham, Fraser Forster, and even Rudd/Ruddy, there's a small but talented group of English 'keepers out there. |

Phenomenal talent. People keep harping on about Pogba, Morrison, Rossi and Pique as talents that got away before them, but Byland was the real deal.Didn't know about the DJing Raoul, hope he doesn´t start getting his wrists injured now

No promising young goalkeeper in their right mind will come to United at the minute. We have De Gea who's 21 in our goal and he will remain there for a decade or more, anyone who comes here now will have to settle for being No 2 at best and with Lindegaard it seems more likely that it'd even be No 3. Why would Butland, who was a perfectly good chance of becoming England's No 1, settle for that?

I heard he had completely left football for a while but then got trials at some big clubs around five years ago. He wasn't offered a contract though so he left to pursue career in a different area. I don't think he's going to come back. He's a reputable DJ now.
