Bump!!
Apparently, BCFC told the manager that they shouldn't play him in their FA Cup replay last night as it would be better if he wasn't cup-tied! Sounds like he might be on the move |

Read some nonsense story yesterday that Krul could be off to AC Milan and Butland could be going to Newcastle.

Blues hit the Jack pot.
How good is Jack Butland really? I've seen him a few times and his shot stopping does seem better than the average bear's. Still I seem to remember him dropping the ball for England (?) and he looked like he could be gaffe prone under pressure. Given his age I'm guessing he'll iron those kinks out of his game but is he really on the trajectory the press claim? Be curious to hear from people who've seen Brum play a lot this year. |

Very sensible move. He should go to a PL club where he'll be a starter. Though looking through the clubs that's probably only likely at Southampton, Reading and possibly West Ham and Norwich. The rest are pretty stable on that position.

We can afford it probably but it will be down to if Moyes wants to strengthen that position. Howard can probably still go on for a couple of years yet but Butland could be our Number 1 for around 10 years. Home grown too.

Not sure how to feel about that. Usually his commitment would be commendable on some level but his club is in a financial disasterzone at the moment and those could be crucial funds to its survival... |

Edit: Of course, he claims he wants to stay on loan at Birmingham for at least the remainder of this season. Could Everton work a deal out where they buy him, but he stays on loan there until the end of the 2013/2014 season? That he'll get his first team experience to develop, and Everton keep Howard in between the sticks, but just when Howard is looking to step down Butland will be ready to come in. |

Hopefully Chelsea sniffing around means that there's a chance Courtois isn't going to be staying there much longer as it doesn't make any sense otherwise. I think he means that Barcelona might want Courtois to replace Valdes, and him going there would then give Chelsea room to have Butland who will then might have a greater chance of competing with Hart for the England #1 shirt. |
