Would it be better to say that Reus is more of a replacement for Sahin?

He is more of a RM but since they have Götze playing there, he could be playing in central midfield behind Kagawa.

Gotze might be playing centre mid, doubtful Reus would play there.

What a fantastic young player. One goal and assist against Bayern, a super buy by dortmund for next season

We should keep an eye on him for his next contract, you never know!

I'll have to watch some of Dortmund next year.

I think we could see something like this next season for Dortmund:

Bender - Leitner
Götze - Kagawa - Reus
Lewandowski

Reus can also play behind Lewandowski - that's where he currently plays for Mönchengladbach - and he can also swap sides with Götze. There is nothing certain here, that's why it will be difficult for their opponents to find a strategy to stop the front four.

Has Lewandowski now become their main target man? How do you rate him?

He was absolutely outstanding. He played like 3 men in the front.

Saw this guy play once against Shalke and knew he'd be the bee's knees he was that good. I reckon he'll outshine Gotze.

A wonderful pass for the assist on the 3rd.

However the soundtrack is like an Irish folk tune played with traditional Chinese instruments synthesized on a Casio.

Germans seem to have mastered football yet when it comes to music its like they just don't get it. David Hasselhoff apparently still sell's tons of his solo albums in Germany! That says it all really

Lewandowski's debut season at Dortmund was unconvincing - many supporters were branding him a flop already but an injury to Dortmund's top scorer Lucas Barrios as well as his absence during the Copa brought Lewandowski back in the side and how did he excel.

Basically, he played like Barrios did the season before. Great hold-up play, strong built, two-footed, good in the air as well as scoring twelve goals for Dortmund in the Hinrunde. Barrios came back, recovered but was kept out of the side. Not too long before he started moaning and complaining with the club saying that ''he could be sold at the right price'' during the winter transfer window - Marseille and Malaga thought to be interest.

Completely missed that he re-signed for Dortmund. Gladbach did well to get 18m Euros for him.

I don't know, we payed that for Valencia and Jones and neither of them had performed the same feats as Reus before they came to United.

I'm not saying Valencia and Jones weren't good buys, but I think Reus is going very cheap here, especially considering the premium teams are paying these days for young attackers.

Perhaps was pushed down because he only wants to go to Dortmund. I'd be thrilled if we bought him for 30 million, though of course it's not my money, I think we'd end up being very happy.

No. I think it was actually done to encourage him to stay.

I was under the assumption that he only had 12-18 months left on his contract, which is why I thought it was a good price. If not, they probably could've sparked a bidding war and got a load more. That is, unless as you said, he only wanted Dortmund.

Its hard to say. Götze will leave Dortmund sometime within the next two seasons. There is no doubt both these lads can work together next season though. I, for one, am really excited to see how their midfield gets along next season.

Bah, I really really wanted us to sign this kid. Never mind... Looks like Dortmund will be everyone's second favourite team now... If they weren't already.

@ forevrared

Reus had a buy-out clause which Dortmund triggered back in December.

To be fair, they play very nice football, have a great philosophy (youth players and having a tight budget) and are, unlike Bayern, very likeable.

After a quiet couple of matches Reus is back with another of his goal-and-assist combos. This time it was a game winning assist after opening the scoring away to a strong Bayer Leverkusen, 2-1 to Gladbach.

This win brings then even with Bayern at 51 points, 8 behind league leader Dortmund.

I find that point curious. What is so unlikeable about Bayern to so many folks? ( apart from the revolting Robben urrrghh)
