Marek Hamsik

I'm seeing a lot of talk about Hamsik's comments on Italian TV this evening.

"man utd would be hard to turn down," "although there's been no concrete interest, i'm flattered by being linked with man utd."

Karlsen claims: man utd are interested, possibly working on a strategy to force down the £30-35 million asking price.

He goes onto suggests it would cost no less than £22-24 million...with Ando going as make weight potentially....

What do you guys think? I personally want us to give Ando a run in the team to claim his place.

I have admittedly only seen Hamsik a few times, but I've decided he's an overrated cheat, and then there's that awful picture of him on the web. With the glasses and the hair and the clothes.

I haven't seen him enough but all my Italian friends claim he is amazing.

Not sure im totally sold on Hamsik, paid closer attention to him this season and he's not overly impressed me, plus he looks like a deranged hedgehog which disturbs me.

Think id rather we signed Defour, although i haven't seen that much of him either but from limited viewing he looks the part and would be considerably cheaper.

We aren't exactly a GQ model side so I don't care how he looks. I thought he was poor at the WC and I've only seen him once this season in that awful bore against Liverpool, but when I saw him last season he was mostly class.

Midfielder Marek Hamsik and said it would be difficult to say no if Manchester United (MU) offered him the chance to play at Old Trafford.

"Glad to hear news of Manchester United wanted me, although to date there is no direct contact between me and the Premier League giants," said 23-year-old Slovakian player told RAI Sport.

Hamsik several times been linked with Manchester United, which had disturbed him and think about it.

According Hamsik, anyone would be hard to say no if Manchester United come in and offer a contract.

Napoli Hamsik new contract with expires in July 2015. He has been linked with Inter Milan.

Napoli certainly not going to let him go cheaply, because the duration of the contract, which is still very long.

Um, he's coming. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Hamsik wearing a United shirt at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

His wife looks alright.

As for Hamsik, there was a lot of hype at the World Cup about him but he didn't look United quality in the games I saw.

David Silva said the same thing. Looks like Barry or De Jong will have a tough fight to keep their first team spot.

Well you cannot expect him to carry Slovakia on his own. All their other players pretty much suck. He is a goal scoring midfielder. He has atleast 10 goals in like 30-35 games for the last three years for Napoli and last year he scored 12 in Serie A.

He is, I thought his signing of a new contract was a personal snub at me, when in fact it was him senidng out a clear message, 'I'll be with you soon.'

Admittedly he's not had anywhere near as good a season so far as the last 2. Watched him recently and he seemed to be keeping his World Cup form. If he can get back to his best then he'd be great.

Pointless signing if we were going to give them Anderson, for whom we paid £18m, in exchange because he doesn't really have that much more potential than Ando.

He's the one with the silly spiky hair in the world cup, isn't he? If he is, i've only seen him in there and wasn't overly impressed. Then again, people like Messi and Rooney didn't have a good competition either.

The point is Hamsik plays much better for Napoli than for Slovakia (where most of us have seen him). But I agree, he doesn't seem to be much better than what we already have in our squad.

Can't believe after 1 WC everybody under rates him, he was excellent for Napoli, the center of everything, Defending, Attacking he had it all and has a great engine.

I'm with Gambit, a Hamsik muppet. Would love him here

Mind you, we're probably not interested in him, they link us because we're easily linked with midfield players at the minute and Hamsik will obviously be in demand since he's going to get his big move sooner or later. We'd have to sell one of our first-team players - probably Rooney - to buy him, or a few of the squad players - like Kuszczak, Carrick and Anderson, I don't think either scenario is going to happen.

Which player do you think we'll actually get, from all the transfer threads, you've basically said we won't get any player at all or maybe a potentially good player but unknown...

Where's the muppettery Optimism ?

I don't think we'll get anyone from the top tier unless Rooney or Carrick goes, in which case we may have some money in our transfer kitty. I mention those two because I cannot see any other players going, unless someone comes up with a bid for Nani - that's not unthinkable with the way he's been playing this season, he may well generate £25m to £30m income, but that's highly unrealistic. If we don't sell anyone, I could see us going for some of the less known names - like Lindergaard who's been mentioned recently, or perhaps Defour who could be signed at lower price (not sure if low enough though seeing as they managed to sell Fellaini to Everton for £14m).

I don't think we require many signings mind, unless any of the old brigade is going to leave now but I think most will stay for another year.

I've cultivated a similarly rash opinion of him.

Not really seen anything special from him and although my stance may be ridiculously harsh, I think some may be getting all excited about him due to some computer game version of him + exotic name syndrome.
