Damn! He is out for another two months apparently.

Mario Gotze out for up to two months - ESPN Soccernet

Quote:
Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder Mario Gotze has been ruled out for up to two months due to a stress fracture of the pubic bone.

Gotze, 19, missed the Bundesliga restart last weekend due to the injury and further tests performed by the doctor of the Germany national team, Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt, as well as Dortmund's club doctor Markus Braun have brought a more precise diagnosis.

The Westphalian club reported on their website that he now faces a period of six to eight weeks on the sidelines. His return is likely to be no sooner than the away game in Augsburg in mid-March.

Gotze, who made his Germany debut last year, has played 14 times for the Westphalians this season, scoring five goals.

However, he has been plagued by injury since last summer and complained of a problem in his groin area ahead of Sunday's Bundesliga clash with Hamburg, which Jurgen Klopp's side won 5-1 without him.

As a result of the injury-enforced break, Gotze will also miss Germany's international friendly against France next month.

My favorite team after United is Dortmund. Since I follow them, I am pissed he is injured again given the fact that he just came back from injury and without him, they are going to find it hard to defend their title.

We never sign any good doctors, we let all the young medical talent go to different teams.

Agent - United chasing Gotze
Agent insists Dortmund will not sell teenager for less than €40m

Mario Gotze's agent Dirk Hebel claims he has had contact with Manchester United and Juventus over the highly-rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

The 19-year-old is one of the hottest young properties in Europe having shone for Dortmund since breaking into the first team in 2009.

Gotze, already capped 12 times for Germany, is expected to play an integral role in his country's Euro 2012 campaign this summer.

His agent, Dirk Hebel, claims several of Europe's top clubs are chasing the attacking midfielder, who has not featured for Dortmund since December 11th due to a groin injury.

Hebel named United and Juve as two suitors who have been in touch over Gotze but insists the Bundesliga club will not let him leave for less than €40million (£33m).

The agent told calciomercato.com: "I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario.

"I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.

"I don't know if he'll go away after this season, you should ask Borussia. But I think that they will not let him leave for less than 40million euros.

"He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured."

I'd rather we pay 40M for Gotze then 39M for Giatan to be honest...from what i've seen Gotze is the superior prospect and would adapt to the English game / culture a lot quicker.

Well we paid 31m euros for Rooney and he was 18 and had made 77 appearances for Everton and scored 17 goals.
Gaitan has 70 appearances 10 goals and 19 assists for Benfica and is 23
Gaitan career totals 149 appearnces 22 goals 31 assists

Gotze is 19 68 appearances 14 goals 20 assists

Gotze is my tip to be player of the tourament in the euros and I can see Germany going all the way.
Id pay 40m for him tomorrow.

40m Euros is a snip for a player of his age, calibre and potential.

The sum we paid for Rooney is more like 60m Euros in today's terms as our turnover (and football revenues in general) have increased by more than 50% since then.

world football?

So I guess being part of the team that become champions of German Bundesliga isn't enough? How about getting 12 caps for the German national team? That proven enough?

While we're on it...how proven was Rooney in 'world football' when we shelled out big for him?

For years United fans wished we had a player like Fabregas in our midfield...well, Gotze to me could become better then Fabregas in a few years time.

40M for a player of that potential quality seems a fair deal to me...

There are no doubts to spend 40m on Götze. He is a supreme talent and he has already proved himself despite being very young. He is a key player for Dortmunds latest success and has done very well for the German national team

If anybody is going to go out and spend 40 million euro on a midfielder in the next year, it will be probably be between us or one of the new oil clubs like PSG. Barca and Madrid are so chock full of midfield talent, they dont really need more without selling, City are pretty well stacked in the midfield department, and hell will freeze over before Wenger spends that much on a player. Chelsea can't afford to do it either.

We've done it before on the likes of Rooney and invested heavily on the likes of Nani and Anderson, so I see no reason not to do it now. I doubt very much Spurs will be willing to let Modric go for less then 45 million. I sure as shit wouldn't and he'll be getting CL football.

He plays mainly as a wide player for Dortmund so it would be interesting to see how he'd cope in a 2 main midfield.

He's not worth that much. I don't think there's any guarantee that he'll turn out to be a top player, as too many times he has flattered to decieve.
