If Dortmund should do everything in their powers to keep him, we should definitely do everything in ours to get him. Played CM against Frankfurt and was brilliant. He is the German Wilshere. I love Wilshere as a player, but he got nothing on this kid.

Mario Götze possess all the qualities that we are looking for. Likes to get stuck in, brave, composed, always finds time and space, good passer of the ball, creative, good dribbler and is a very smart footballer. Got good pace too. As close to Modric and Wilshere as you get in terms of style.

Yeah theres no chance that Dortmund will dream of selling this player yet. Theres no chance he will want to leave there either as he will want to learn his trade in the Champions league with Dortmund next season an then he will sign for Bayern Munich in a couple of years when he feels ready for them! Really crazy that people think he might end up here this summer

Friend of mine is a huge Dortmund fan, he reckons there's no way whatsoever that they'll sell Gotze.

Glad to hear it, there is too many cases of top clubs hoovering up young players. In some cases it can sometimes be the making of the player but in this case the bundersligue and Dortmund are the ideal places for him at this stage.

Superb first full season for Dortmund - 33 games, 6 goals and 15 (!) assists in return. He's a star in the making - however, let's see how he does in his second professional season.

A lot of players have been hyped after their debut year and slowly faded. The potential and quality is there to be seen though.

For me, he is a definite starter for Germany in next year's European Championships.

so the attacks would be:

Gomez

Gotze - Ozil - Muller

without watching too much of dortmund does he have a high enough workrate to track back? Thats one thing about podolski, he didnt mind putting in a shift

Klose's still ahead of Gomez in the pecking order, MST3K.

Götze's work rate is good, he plays in the same system for Dortmund and can operate on the left, right and in the centre. He tracks back well enough. Still, Podolski and Klose are highly rated by Joachim Löw.

Most likely bullshit, but I think he would be a great signing. That kid is going to be awesome.

The only concern (and tbh it's a big one) is whether he would be able to cut it on the highest level.

Out of all the talented young midfielders in Germany, he's the one who might have the biggest future. Would be a superb buy imo, but Dortmund wont sell after letting Sahin go to Madrid

I'm not sure he would really cost that much. I still think (although they won the league last year) that Dortmund is a selling club and if big a club came knocking Goetze would want to move. He would be available for a reasonable price I think.

Would love it if we went after Goatse. Perfectly fits SAF's transfer policy too.

Would love to see him in the red shirt, he looks such a talent. Like Ozil he prefers the pass but can be a goal threat.

However with Young, Nani, Valencia, Giggs I very much doubt we'd buy him. I dont know if he can make it in a two man midfield and he wont get enough playing time that he deserves as a winger. Although you could make the arguement look how Schweinsteiger started as a winger and what happened when he was moved more central.

Whenever I watched him he played through the middle. He is a very versatile player though and also both-footed. Realyl great prospect.
And he is only 19 years of age.

Me too. He might not be as good as Sneijder is, but I love to see young talents getting world class players, and Goetze truly has it all to become huge

It would be so brilliant to build a world class midfield from young talents. We have a bright future regarding all areas, except midfield.

I disagree with the last part. I feel we have a very good batch of midfielders coming through. In fact, I argue that if we are buying a midfielder, he should be someone more senior than Goetze to accommodate for the talent that is bound to come through in the next couple of years.

You're assuming that our youngsters will all break through. None of them may. We need players of Goetze's quality. He has tremendous potential and is already a full German international at 19.

I am not assuming that ALL of them will break through, no ofcourse not. But I am confident that some of them might make it, yes.

I want all of them to but suspect none will for different reasons; mainly due to lack of chances. Goetze could transfer into any top side in Europe at the moment and play immediately.

6 full caps at the age of 19 is very impressive, all the more so playing in such a key position, for a national team that's literally littered with talent at the moment. He's got a far far better chance of breaking through than any of our youths at the moment, and that's not a slight on them.

In fact he'd be pushing for a starting spot this very season, if we did sign him. This is extremely unlikely to happen though. I can see him going to Bayern in a year or two.
