Massive Sign 19 million pound "Jo"
Man City have agreed a £19million fee with CSKA for Brazilian striker Jo.
The highly-rated 21-year-old international had been expected to move to Eastlands last week, although the Premier League's rules over third-party ownership have hindered the transfer. More to follow. source:www.soccernet.com Highly rated by Brazilian interntaional team. Was a regular in their internatioanl youth sides. Tall, lanky, strong and skilful striker with a knack for finishing well. Think of Kanu II or Adebayor II with more Brazilian skills like nutmegs and swervy dribbles. Seen him for CSKA Moscow in the Champions League where he played very well scoring 2-3 goals in the group stages. Good signing for Citeh but 19million pounds seem steep. Evem ANderson & nain cost slightly less & they were already full internationals |

Undoubtedly overpriced but there aren't many great strikers on the market that Man City have a chance of getting so he's not a bad choice. Has the physical presence to play up top on his own and has the flair and intelligence to fit in well there. Although since he's not a Mark Hughes signing he might be misused.

Watched him during the Under 20 world cup here in Canada last summer, he was quite impressive if I'm being honest, good at holding the ball and playing as the main striker and quite skillful as well. He's very talented and if he fulfills his potential City will be quite happy when the offers come in later for him!

Yeah, I think with the likes of Elano and Giovanni, he'll make a nice transition there, but it could take him a little while to make that transition on the pitch, or maybe not as he's a strong lad himself. If we'd signed him, there would've been a massive wankfest over him most likely.

He seems a good player, and could well do a Santa Cruz and surprise everyone, garnering some high-profile admirers in the process. However, for £19million he needs to be very, very good, and I doubt that'll happen.
Think about it, that's only a few million short of what Torres cost! ![]() |
