By that reasoning you wouldn't live anywhere but on a farm.

Everyone I know who's lived in Shanghai loved it and says it's an amazing experience. To get paid to play football there for a year or two is without any doubt a really awesome opportunity.

No. That's not the same reasoning. Living in Shanghai is like being a smoker. They regularly have to cancel flights because of pollution and it's gotten worse since this photo.

Anyone I've ever heard talking about living somewhere else than they do normally say that they love it. Grass is greener and all that. That kind of mentality usually goes away after 2 years if the other place is too different.

I know a few people who've lived in Shanghai and every one of them says it's a great place to live.

You don't have to live in Stoke, though, just like Owen doesn't have to live in Manchester. The peak district is close by, for example.

See post 25. He doesn't live in Stoke, he lives in Birmingham.

Shanghai is an amazing city, possibly one of the most modern in the world. So much do do and see there. You can never get bored in Shanghai.
Even with the pollution I would rather live in Shanghai than fucking Stoke.

To think that he was once seen as a viable transfer target for us.

Fuck me, it freaks me out seeing a thread named "Matthew Upson" in the transfer forum.

Doesn't help that it isn't devilish who started it either.

Ouch. He was very good as a young lad at Arsenal (pace, intelligence, physicality) but was fucked over by injuries.
