Miralem Sulejmani
Man Utd, Chelsea target Sulejmani wants Heerenveen exit
A host Premiership clubs are on red alert after Miralem Sulejmani declared yesterday he planned to ask away from Heerenveen. Just this month, the teenage Serb has been scouted by Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Everton and he admitted yesterday: "Previously, I have always declared that I would like to stay another year, but the situation has changed. "Heerenveen has said that it wants to upgrade my contract, but the club has said nothing concrete to me for months. "So, now I feel it is time to leave. "I want to be like Ruud van Nistelrooy. He made his first steps at Heerenveen before going to PSV, Manchester United and Real Madrid. I want a career like Van Nistelrooy." |

I'd prefer either of these two
Reza Ghoochannejhad / Calvin Jong-a-Pin both Heerenveen players (Haven't seen them play but i can imagine that those names would sell merchandise). |

If it's an ethnic / Balkan war issue, you might be interested to know that he is of Gorani descent. The Gorani are "a small South Slavic ethnic group of Muslim background who inhabit the mountainous Balkan cross-border region of Gora-Dragaš."

I don't like Serbians. Every Serbian I have ever met (which, admittedly, is only around thirty) has been unpleasant. I don't like the country, I don't like their politics and I don't like the people.

I don't see why it makes me a moron. People on this forum are quite happy to slag off England/Britain, and the English/British people, but disliking some other countries makes me a moron? |

(A) I didn't say it for the reaction; I actually don't want any here, and (B) everyone's all too happy for threads about the English, but the moment someone starts a thread about the Irish, there's an outcry, or mentions the Serbs, they get labelled stupid. Double standards if you ask me.

I know that Serbia's human rights record is atrocious as their soldiers have killed hundreds of thousands of Bosnians, Croats, Slavs,Slovenians,Macedonians, Kosovans etc. I'm a Muslim but my is love for United is great such that it doesn't really bother me if there is a Christian, Jew, atheist, Voodoo, fire woshipper, Zoroastrian, white, black, Chinese, Korean, African, Asian or even Martians...... It is sad when I see ethnic clashes break out on the football pitch such as in Yuglosavia in the early 1990s when there was a famous picture of Zvnomir Boban (or was it Dejan Savicevic?) playing for Red Star Belgrade and he launced kung fu kicks at fans invading the pitch from rival ethnic groups. The political distintgeration of Yugoslavia in the 1990s cost the football team of winning at least one World Cup and a European Cup. The talent they had then was amazing.....Darko Pancev, Zvonimir Boban, Dejan Savicevic, Stojkovic, Jugovic and later on Mihailovic, Mijatovic and Croats like Davor Suker, Robert Jarni, Robert Prosinecki, Acimovic, Bocsic and Slovenians like Zlatko Zahovic. Even small Bosnia has some pretty good players like Hassan Salihamidzic who is very underrated in my opinon (played for Bayern Munich and now plying his trade at Juventus and scored twice against AC Milan recently)Imagine a unified team of that would have been a footballing dream team for at least a decade and will be equipped to challenge for major honors |

Yugoslavia at that time had a juggernaut of a team, probably the best team in Europe. Just to state one name Dejan Savicevic, who was in my opinion as good as Roberto Baggio. Its sad to see such a world class team not being able to win the world class because of war. |

Sulejmani has the potential to be a world beater. He has amazing dribbling ability and an eye for goal. Similar to a Giggs type of player with a bit of Savicevic in the mix |

I'll separate politics from sports the day people stop attacking the Chinese olympic flag-carrier, and when the sports teams actually return to Zimbabwe.
Politics and sports are bound up bloody tightly, and there's nowt we can do about it. Just look at Celtic and Rangers. |

Wow, this thread is amazing. What's with all the racism? Anyway, this guy is really good in the Dutch league, but it would be bad for him to move to United now. He'll probably move to Ajax and improve in the Dutch league under Van Basten and Bergkamp. In 2/3 years this guy should be a really good buy.

Maybe it might be worth us buying the lad and loaning him to psv or ajax for a few year, he'll get chance to develop and our relationship with either club will be improved which might help if we are ever interested in any of there players.
