Moussa Sissoko

Not the Mohammed Sissoko that played for the Dippers but the Toulouse player.

Has anyone heard or seen him play?

Moussa Sissoko: Manchester United to Sign Toulouse’s ‘New Vieira’?

Very stupid and borderline racism to name him the new Viera. They're so different when they play

you need to be balck, tall, strong, play in midfield and speak French - and voila- there you have your tag of "new Vieira"

Tall?

Black?

Midfielder?

That's good enough for most journos to give someone the new Viera tag.

The fact he;s French is a bonus.

I'm a big fucking fan of this lad, i've watched a number of games since 2008 and I can say safely he's one for the future.

I can safely say he's not got much attributes to make him the new Vieira, he's much more defensive minded but has a good physical presence in midfield and a good eye for pass... It's fair to say he's a box-to-box type player, but his best attributes are off the ball... He's like a Maha Diarra type player

I rate him highly, he's gone well under the radar which is quite strange in this modern day of young footballers.

He's a sort of box to box midfielder but who likes to attack more obviously, he's often seen in the opposite penalty box trying to score goals

The system allows him to do that, it's a treat to watch a player with his defensive capabilities turn something into nothing in the opposition box, and STILL find his way back to defend... His pace and awareness is highly under-rated.

He was a former DM but he was moved up the pitch so his role is a lot more attacking now. He's a powerful attacking midfielder

He was average at defending that his coach allows him to not focus much of his game on it.He has other qualities and shouldn't waste them on defending, well that's what his coach thinks

Don't be silly mate, if i was black i'd fucking love if someone called me Vieira. It's just an usual flattering.

@ Pogue : I don't think Sissoko is that tall, he's just a good black midfielder, it's enough to be hailed as the new Vieira.

I don't really see the point in signing him with Hargreaves back in three weeks (haha). He plays very well, he's strong, got pace and gets forward pretty well. He could turn into a very good player but is he a class above any other talented midfielder on the market ? I don't think so. I don't think we need another CM either. On the other hand, I thought buying Evra was a stupid idea as we already had shitloads of LB. How wrong I was ! Fergie knows best.

@Searl :I don't know what to think anymore because when I see his partner Gignac who was outstanding last season and who has struggled big time in this one.I don't know if he's a one season wonder because he has been good so far since the start of the league.I don't take into account what he did last season because it was overrated to ridiculous proportions in France.
If he can keep up his level in more than just one season then yes, he's special indeed

@Alex: that's why I said borderline.

Fergie also knows more about Hargreaves prognosis than any of us.

Speculation apart. If we're to sign any new midfielders it has to mean(pragmatically)that someone or more than one has to leave.

I was sure there was an other thread where he was discussed. I rate him very highly seen him around 5 times. Hes an all round midfielder. Id be delighted if we did get him not sure where it would leave some of the rest our squad though. Its probably bollox but I live in hope

Well you have to reckon Scholes is on his way, that's one... And you wonder about Gibson/Anderson in a few years, that's three... In a few years, Carrick will be on his way/peaking as well... So, technically speaking we could be looking at a totally brand new CM staff in a few years, bar Fletcher.

That is of course, if money supports us.

It really doesn't.

There's no reason why despite the debt there would not be money to spend.

However whether we should be spending that money in our situation is an entirely different question.

Gibson has got a great shot but he will never make it as one of our first choice midfielders. His lack of ball possession skill is his downfall.

As some people stated, he's more an offensive-minded player than a defensive midfielder. But i do rate him as well, he's got tremendous physical skills. He's only 20 but he has an amazing potential.
