Phillip Lahm
Looked superb for the Germans tonight.
The commentators said he is learning English... anyone heard this before? Has he really only a year on his contract? IMO Brown is more than adequate at RB and he's Man through-and-through, but if Lahm is available, we have to go for him. Or Richards, who is a beast. |

Lahm reminded me of Gaz at his best. He would be a very good aquisition if Nev's not fit.
We might have a hard time taking Micah of City now with Hughes in charge. I reckon Richards would be ideal replacement for Pique, and the likely departure of Silvestre. Would fill a number of position in the back four. |

What makes you say that?
Hargreaves said he and Lahm and some other Bayern players use to watch the Premiership together and that they all fancied playing here. To a German, I imagine that the Premiership is the most attractive foreign league in most cases. Germans would - and will - fit perfectly... I expect to see a few more coming into the EPL soon.. |

I agree. They're a big, proud club, and much like us with Ronaldo and Real Madrid, they'll be loath both to lose their best players to a rival European club and to be perceived as a selling club or a stepping stone for players.

Lahm was pretty good today, anyway its just one game.
He didnt perform too good for Bayern lately but it seems he plays better when he is in the national side. He just signed a new contract at Bayern and will stay there for more season and remember Klinsmann is their new manager and that changed his mind to remain at Bayern. |

Clemens Fritz can play at right-back as well (used to be a striker) - would be a good alternative to the likes of Alves if we want an attacking full-back. Plus he's 6 foot tall, which is good - and his versatility could also be useful as I think we're looking at backups for right midfield (Valencia etc.) 27 though.

He just signed a new contract, I think. He has had a bad season, by the way, but he was great yesterday.
Anyway, the right back position is one of the few position where we have local lads, and I don't want us to field a team without local lads. |

As a center half absolutely no doubt but as a right back you are so wrong it is unreal. Brown has never once went past a player, rarely does anything good in an attacking sense and looks about the most un-natural footballer ever.
Lahm has bags of ability, is two footed, has pace to burn and can beat men. He is like Evra on the right. Evra>Brown ![]() |

I'm working in Munich at the moment, and I was talking to a Bayern fan yesterday who said Lahm has been useless since the world cup in 2006... Maybe he gets it together playing for Germany, but can't do it week in week out at club level.... |
