Lahm, Benzema, Berbatov, Kaka, Messi. Are just a few of the players we won't be signing this year.

If SAF does decide to indeed let ronaldo go i would hope to purchase the likes of lahm to assist replacement right winger.

Lahm reminds me a bit of Irwin. Would be a great wing back for years to come

Was it just me, or did Lahm have a nightmare tonight until he obviously didn't have a nightmare anymore?

he took the winner very well, although the Turkish defending was comical once again. he didn't look very solid defensively though, he made an error which gifted Altintop a great chance in the opening minutes which Lehman saved and Kazim-Richards had an easy time against him in teh first half and could've been awarded a peno when Lahm pulled his shirt and brought him down in the box. Sabri was also having fun with him in the second half and went past him quite easily for Turkey's second goal.

Yes, that's the problem, the defensive duties, he needs to improve that cause his attacking skills are just amazing.

I would agree with that. I thought he was very poor defensively and the goal masked his performance.

If Ronaldo leaves we must sign a top class full back to help fill the gap.

Brown is good but if Ponce leaves we're gonna need more attacking quality from RB...

I casually follow Bayern Munich and the German national team, and I'd have to say Germany/Turkey was the worst I've ever seen Lahm perform. He was off-form that match. He is usually very defensively sound, he is a much better defender as opposed to what he can offer going forward.

Form is temporary... class is permanent.

He had a terrible game, with a few brilliant match-winning moments. Sign of a good player.

Strange, he has always stroke me as a sort of striker who does really well offensively and is relatively balanced definitely. I'd easily say that there are players as good or even better than him defensively who play exact the same position, but I wouldn't expect any of them to be as good at going forward. That's his best strength.

Should have had a penalty as well. Not the best defensive performance, but it can be sorted. Him and Evra would be fantastic going forward.

one of his best abilities is dispossessing the opposition, I have seen Lahm dispossess wingers and strikers in the full flow of the game countless times. Also, his positional sense is very strong, usually he is always in the right place at the right time.

Classic example of the modern wannabe-winger syndrome. Great going forward but can't defend for shit (see Alves, Ramos et al.

one off game and suddenly he can't defend for shit. I'd like to see Ramos cross for an assist as well as score a goal like Lahm did yesterday.
