Raul to Utd.??

Nah...I doubt it...but take a look at this piece of junk my cousin sent me...Load of rubbish, no source, but I'll try and find out where he got it form....so here goes

My brother is currently studying in Manchester. Last
week he was at a
cafe near Old Trafford. Martin Ferguson was there with
another man,
believed to be an agent of a famous footballer. They
were discussing
transfers. The agent wanted to know who MU will sign
before convincing his
own client to move to Old Trafford. Martin Ferguson
named five stars who
they are likely to sign. They are Rio Ferdinand, Rustu
Recber, Roberto
Carlos, Joe Cole and amazingly his team-mate Paolo Di
Canio. He said
that all the deals will be done before 12 July.
Meanwhile the players
going out will be Seba Veron to Lazio, Mikael
Silvestre to Barcelona,
Dwight Yorke to Blackburn and Quinton Fortune to
Auxerre. He also mentioned
that in order to boost their Asian market, United will
be signing three
Asian players for free: Inamoto of Japan, Ahn Jung
Hwan of Korea and
Khalid Jamlus of Malaysia (who is currently having a
trial with a German
club). The agent seemed to be very pleased and he is
confident that a
deal will be struck between his client and MU. They
shook hands and
parted. The last thing the agent said was, "Raul will
be ok with the number
9 shirt."
Joe & Orlson, Fri 05/07/02 05:02

i doubt we're even likely to have any of those asian players playing against as at OT.
<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

By the way, my cousin is not Joe & Orlson, nor does he have a brother studying in Manchester.

It can't possibly be Raul from Real so it is probably you they were talking about. I assumed it was a typo

Khalid Jamlus is the top scorer in the Malaysian league ...and had a couple of trials with second division German clubs. I think he recently got offered a 2 year contract with one of them - but our league sad to say is not even comparable to other Asian leagues - and I dont think he'd even have a chance in the J or K leagues ...surprised to hear his name being mentioned though

People are now making up outlandish rumours just to get a mention on the official site.

Started off as a bit of a giggle - now it's just naff.

Khalid Jamlus - a speedy striker, just what we need in attack <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Papers: Reds eye Raul?
14/06/2010 08:35

Reds wait in the wings on Raul
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Raul should he be allowed to leave on a free transfer. Real president Florentino Perez is believed to be ready to give the 32-year-old a golden handshake to leave the club this summer. However, while he is admired by Sir Alex Ferguson, sources at Old Trafford believe Raul is too old to make a significant impact on the Premier League.

last year was very poor by his standards, he scored just 7goals but the year before he got 24 in 45 games.
Raúl González - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also, lately Capello spoke very well of him and at 32 he s not that old. however i still do not see him as a united player.

He'd be a more impact staying in Madrid. They need a good captain to keep up with their signings.
He's better than Larsson though.

He also only started 8 games in the league. Most of his appearances were 5-15min and that's coming on after the team was already ahead. Wasn't used as a forward either. Played behind the striker in more of a Guti role. Used to open spaces and hold up the ball.

Apart from the talent, it all boils down to motivation. Look at Close and Podolski for example - they are quite average when playing for Bayern but they transform themselves into matchwinners when they play for germany

A few years ago he would have been excellent, but at 31 I wonder if he can adapt to the premiership style. Seria A makes more sense to be honest. He would do well with Milan (and by well I mean, not look or feel old).

Too old and not good enough for United.

Great player in his hayday. Was one of the best strikers in the world. Sadly that time has passed.

He's not going anywhere. He's not first choice and he's not first choice of the bench. He is however the captain and the biggest influence in the team. That's his purpose.
Mourinho has already expressed that he wants to give him a similar role that he gave Materazzi.

I don't think he would need much time to adapt to the league. A man with his experience and pitch intelligence. Put him in a CL match and I'd rather bet that he'd score than not. He's a good man to have on the bench.

Why? He can't even keep up with the pace of La Liga, the fuck is he going to do in England, you might want to watch his disgraceful performance against Liverpool again.

He should stay the fuck away from this club, he's not good enough.

Besides when he sees the pay cut he would have to take, I'm sure he would want to see out his contract at Madrid.

I just don't agree with you. And why would I want to see his performance against Liverpool again? What kind of point are you making there? You saying that United players couldn't cut it in Spain? Watch the performance against Barcelona again...

You are a bit special, aren't you?

There's a difference between a one-off performance in a one-off game against one of the top sides in Europe, and a season-long performance, often against opposition that can't qualify as such.

Ok he's shit that's what I'm trying to say, we are much better than him

Besides when he sees he would have to take a wage cut I'm sure he would force a new contract out of Madrid

ffs, this isn't 2002, Raul has been past it for years, just watch him play, he can't deal with the pace of everything around him and is a complete passenger, what's this experience, should we bring Fat Ronaldo to Old Trafford too?

We are not a retirement home for washed up has beens, that's Ac Milan

We are becoming a sort of mix between Milan and Arsenal. Old has been cheap players and young unheard of players with potential.

A Me-Arse if you will.

You're missing the point. I'm in no way talking about him in terms of United. I don't listen to this kind of bollocks. Of course he isn't coming here. That wouldn't make sense.

He's been past his best but he's in no way shit like you say. He was Madrid's best player after Higuain 08/09.

Last season isn't a big judgement factor as he didn't play a lot. Still brought some goals to the table, similar to Owen.

Why are you putting words in my mouth? I didn't say it was the same. I said what I said to point out how saying what he said doesn't mean anything. One performance doesn't mean anything. Certainly not a single performance that wasn't even this season.

Madrid suffers greatly to accomodate him, it's like playing with 10 men at times, he can go a whole half getting 4 touches of the ball. In my opinion he's a key factor in Madrid not doing fuck all in Europe for quite some time now, his influence on the team.

Taking this one seriously for a moment I would suggest he'd be a good bet for someone like Spurs. He really has seen it all, he still does score goals, on the strength of his positioning. He might not be much help to a Madrid or a United in Europe, but to someone trying to get through the qualifiers for the first time. Well, maybe.
