I think we should leave him alone. We all know how great he was but right now he needs some serious discipline to reach those heights. We simply do not have the time to do that to him.

Barcelona have confirmed they have received a £25.5million bid from Manchester City for Ronaldinho.

City have been chasing the Brazilian superstar all summer as club owner Thaksin Shinawatra looks to bring the former World Player of the Year to Eastlands.

Barcelona are open to offers for Ronaldinho as new coach Pep Guardiola has revealed the classy playmaker is not in his plans for next season.

City and Milan have been the two frontrunners in the race to sign Ronaldinho with the player's agent suggesting the World Cup winner would favour a move to Italy.

Ronaldinho flew back to Barcelona over the weekend to try and resolve his future and Camp Nou president Joan Laporta has revealed City are leading the race for the former Paris Saint Germain star.

And we have allegedly put in 28 mil for Berbatov.

Its Man City's money to lose. If they take time with him and instill some discipline into him then they can get the old Ronaldinho back.

It's a win win situation of City get him. If he gets back to his best, city will crack the top 4 if he stays unfit than at least City will still have all the extra merchandising sales. If he doesn't bring quality to the team he brings money for the board. Best case scenario is that he is influential both on and off the field.

I sure hope they sign him, the EPL is the place where the best players belong.

We should buy him at cut price, he'll turn down the move to City and Barca will have to sell to us. Also, swoop for Ronaldo, and hope they both get back to their best.

No reports of us having made a bid, but it's been confirmed that City has - your mate probably just heard "Manchester" and assumed it was United.

It's just City fans pretending United made a bid. So when he signs for them we can get the usual "Ronaldinho turns down United bid to sign for City: Ronaldinho declares that City are on the way up while United are on the way down".

The only people reportedly interested in him are AC Milan and City.

AC would have had him but City are offering there whole bank account for him.

City do know he might still be a flop? money is no motivation for a person who already has millions in the bank

Ronaldinho agent: "Milan tonight!"

“Things are going well. They could not have gone better,” Roberto De Assis told journalists outside a hotel in the Spanish city where he was in talks with the general manager.

“Will it all be resolved by this evening? We'll see. At the moment he is still a Barcelona player.”

The statements provide a stark contrast to those of Barca President Joan Laporta, who is desperately trying to steer the player towards Manchester City.

This is because the Eastlands side has offered £25.5m compared to just £8m from the Rossoneri.

"Ronaldinho and his agent have two interesting proposals and they are leaning more towards the one from City," Laporta told Catalunya Radio.

“Ronaldinho will leave, even if we should not forget he was an important figure for this club and decisive to many successes.”

The Brazilian has not turned up to pre-season training with the Nou Camp side and remained in Porto Alegre to work solo.

That decision pushes the matter to a turning point and transfer guru Claudio Pasqualin also believes it is D-Day.

“It really seems as if today is the day for Ronaldinho to become a Milan player, therefore achieving his dream,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
Sounds like a reliable source

CHELSEA have made a last-ditch attempt to hijack AC Milan’s £18million deal for Ronaldinho.

New Blues boss Phil Scolari asked the Barcelona playmaker, 28, to join in a personal call yesterday.

But Scolari’s plea may have come too late as Milan believe they have agreed a three-year, £18m contract with the Brazil star.

Chelsea are prepared to pay the Italians a £15m fee and Ronaldinho £17.4m over the same period.

Manchester City made the top bid with £25m but the player does not want to go to Eastlands.

They already have too many headaches trying to see who plays between more than 5 midfielders in their team to get another one who is fat and below his best.

shit rumour. He is off to Milan.

Very well researched.

I was actually going to write on here that I thought it was telling that Scolari with a blank cheque at his disposal was showing no interest in a player that helped win him the world cup- unless of course the Sun have pulled this out of a hat.

this caught my eye: apparently, he's looking trim now, is Ronaldinho

Quote:
Ronaldinho returned to Spain last night after an intensive fitness campaign left him looking trim. He will play in the Beijing Olympics as an over-aged player - a stumbling block for Milan - and did not show for the first day of Barcelona's pre-season yesterday.

The Murdering Chairman was just being used by Ronaldinho's agent as a bargaining tool to get a higher fee from Meeelan.

Classic stuff.

Signed for Milan!
Agreement in principle, subject to a medical? A contract until June 30 2011? City still massiver than Milan?

There is a pattern with players like him where they reach the top, get complacent, and never really give a crap again.

This is why we've steered clear. He's just not the same person as he was two and a bit years ago.

City fans will be on 606 saying they're glad it didn't happen as there are already too many foreigners at their club, and they're hoping to snap up Robinho.

Rivaldo and Ronaldo both failed at Milan. It's a bit funny that once again they turn their hopes to a former Brazilian superstar that seems to have lost all motivation.
