Of course if we'd signed him in '03 we'd probably have gone through all the Roanldo crap we're getting now a couple of years back.

Yeah, probably! would have been worth it though, just as having Ronaldo has been worth all the trouble

Not sure why there isn't more interest in the Ronaldinho story...there is clearly interest from clubs in England that we are unaware of.

I reckon City, Chelsea and Spurs.

Won't happen. I honestly don't think Fergie is interested in him at this stage

Fergie wanted him then, and i bet he wants him now. A fantastic player, better than Ronaldo could ever be. Sure Ronaldo is fantastic and on form, but the actual genius of Ronaldinho puts him amongst the greats of the modern age. Maybe with the guidance of Fergie and Queiroz he can reignite his passion for the game. Oh to see Ronaldinho, Rooney and Tevez on the counter...

If fergie wants him then we are surely in with a massive chance of signing him then.

If we wanted him I'd say it's a done deal. I think there's more then one good reason to sign him and additionally the Latin players will like it (as would most people you'd think) ..

I think the reason we have heard nothing points to the fact that there may be negotiations going on at present.Fergie is a sly old dog with his transfers these days and he has learnt from being open about targets in the past and losing out,did Ronaldinho not say he would have his future sorted in a few weeks by then Ronaldo may be a Mardrid player so it kind of fits in.

I am confused at the complete lack of any media article even suggesting Ronaldinho coming to United. Even if it's not true I would have expected several articles by now making up the idea.

Nobody has asked him about Manchester United, he's not mentioned Manchester United and the papers have not even speculated about the possibility of a move to Manchester United.

Bit strange when he was supposed to be moving to us in 2003

I think they probably are just praying that we don't even consider it.

Because theres simply no space for him unless we sell Ronaldo or Nani. Or don't take up the option on Tevez.

There is no way we can ignore a player like him.Our management is pretty aware of his situation and must have given him a bit of a thought.

This is all just speculation coming from you guys, as much as id like to see it happen, and fergie getting ronaldihno back to his beautiful self, there is no suggestions of it, not even speculation in the tabloid its just pure fantasy from us football fans, the only way it might happen is if we sell ronaldo, but even then its a long shot.

Imagine we signed him and berbatov though...

Ronaldinho is a genius, but its worth pointing out his game was a bit flat last year. He looked like he had lost a yard of pace and his flicks and tricks werent coming off like they used to. Of course if he steers free of injury and gets into shape he'll perhaps get his speed and sharpness back, but I think a fair few people may be surprised and dissappointed if he were to come to the club, at the start. He's a long way to go before he's back to the player we all enjoyed lighting up matches.

Giggs is going to be playing less and less, Nani is still developing and is not experienced enough to play a full time role in the first team yet. Ronaldo could be leaving. There is room in our team

First of all Barcelona had a lot of problems as has been said 11 divorces. You need to be mentally sharp to have a chance of being your best not just psychically.

Additionally while it is quiet, I believe we signed Anderson under the radar did we not? It's not like the guy is 35 and past it.

Additionally we will have a very strong squad but we have a lot of games next season. He would be ideal and to be honest managers LOVE these kind of problems

We could make this guy world player of the year again! I have no doubt about that! He needs a new challenge and coming into our current squad he would shine!

I should imagine the Nike marketing bods are giving United and 'dinho a quiet nudge together in the background.

I think if we signed Ronaldinho we would have to llok for an alternative striker option to Berbatov, both are floaty players we would need a more direct penetrative striker to complement ROnaldinho and Rooney...Eto'o? But i am not sure i am kean on just transplanting Barcas strike force into our team, seems a little cheap?

No Eto'o. I don't think the two get on?

I'm not sure we'd need anyone. We do also have manucho coming in (hopefully). As an additional option we'd be pretty strong. Bear in mind bugs is very capable of scoring goals too

Ronaldinho, Sneijder and Ramos

Spot the player who doesn't play for Madrid

You could argue not one player messi aside can replace Ronaldo, but it's a unique situation

If Ronaldo leaves, yes.

Ronaldinho is looking to ressurect his career. And for that he'll want a guaranteed starting position. We don't have one unless Ronaldo, Tevez, Nani or Giggs arent at the club next season.

ronaldinho being a failure at manchester united is better than ronaldinho becoming a hit in any of the other epl clubs...

I heard someone say, which is fair enough. There is the risk he will flourish but with the players at United, in the form we are in and with the confidence, who knows

Also, when people talk about making inroads into other markets. Just imagine if we were able to get the best out of him. The Brazilian market would open itself. Especially at this time, when the Brazil side are in limbo.

They need something, someone to inspire them. I think it's an opportunity. They'll be watching the epl, united games and we have a chance to show the world we are as good as anywhere at not only producing talent, but sustaining it.
