The Brazilian twins are too young, Evans is a central back and OShea is a bit shit. If we want to give a revamp to our defense then we should get rid of those players that we dont trust in big matches. Mickey is not one of them.

I always want to keep players. But, Silvestre has been here for some time now, and will not be getting a place in the starting lineup, he might want that. I also want as few players as possible between Rio/Vidic and Pique/Evans. So if one of Rio/Vidic is out I`d like to see the young ones be given a chance. Silvestre is one of two natural left backs though, which is a bit short. O`Shea has done well there before, so we might manage anyhow. All in all, if it benefits the likes of Pique and Evans then I`d be ok with Silvestre leaving. He`s been a great servant over a long period of time though.

Apart from his first season where he did magnificently, I was never impressed by him in defense. Mind he can do a decent job in midfield (Fletch, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes and Hargreaves are much better then him) but as a defender he is a bit shite (sorry there is no better way to describe his defending skills). The difference between Mickey and OShea is the same between Evra and Mickey.

Silvestre Tempted By Bordeaux Interest

Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has admitted that he is tempted to turn back the time by making an emotional return to Ligue 1.

Earlier in the week, French daily sports paper L'Equipe revealed that Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is targeting an attacking midfielder and a left back, with Silvestre reportedly being the dream candidate for the latter.

Silvestre, in turn, has admitted that he is intrigued by the prospect of starring for the club he supported since his boyhood days.

"It is not impossible - Bordeaux, it's the club of my heart," said the 30-year-old, who will be out of contract next summer.

"When I was small, I followed their exploits in Europe. Moreover I have got family in the [area] Gironde."

In his latest comments, Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud refused to be drawn out on the Silvestre speculation directly, but was keen to stress that his club are aiming high.

“We can say that plenty of names are going to circulate and at the end some of them will be right,” he said.

“We are just starting to think (about targets), Laurent Blanc leads it.

“Today it is too early to say that we have decided who our priority recruits are for next season.

“That is wrong. There are some possibilities, propositions are made to us, other ones we directly study.

“I want the team to be ready before the pre-season starts.

“Playing the Champions League helps to us attract players, even if Bordeaux have always been attractive.

“But it is less easy for the financial negotiations, because some clubs tell themselves ‘They play in the Champions League, they have money, we will take advantage of it.’”

silvestre = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvester_(Looney_Tunes)

and sylvester's main target in the cartoons is tweety bird.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tweety

therefore,

silvestre = tweety.

Also because his strangely shaped head is quite like Tweety's.

Personally, I normally call him Mikael or Micky.

Brilliant. They pushed Lyon all the way to the title in his first year.
