If Partizan sell Tosic for £2-3 million then that is absolutely ridiculous. The guy has got a lot of potential to turn into a great player and that sum of money is ridiculous. Serbia always produces talents and sells then for peanuts - or the Mafia steal the money.

No wonder people in Serbia lose interest in the domestic league.

How the fuck Dinamo Zagreb got £16 million for Modric is a mystery to me.

"I honestly hope that he will be better than me, but it won't be easy. He'll have to eat a lot of beans to get there, but looking at where he is now, I'd say he's on the way. I've had the chance to see him in national team games, and I can assure you he has a brilliant left foot."

classic.

Nah considering what we've payed recently for nani and ando, hte figure of 9 mill sounds alot more likely especially with how highly this kid is rated and by how many teams he's been scouted by!

It could be that SAF will be signing him on Summer. Unfortunately I dont believe that this is actually a wise move. I mean, with Giggsie's winger days over + with Hargreaves injured for the entire season we definately lack of staff on the flanks. Bringing in Tosic in January will allow us not only to rest 1 or 2 first teamers at a critical time when fatigue starts taking over but also guarantee us another freekick specialist (and great crosser), something which we definately need.

I hope your right.

That guardian article is really good. It seems like we are ready for another Golden generation of players if they continue to develop and don't let it get to their heads - which is sadly a common thing in Serbia for young talent.

By the way what do you guys reckon to how Ivanovic has played for Chelsea now that he has had an extended run?

If Partisan had to sell us Tosic 3m then they would be stupid since thats the amount of money they had bought him in the first place.

Good young wingers are becoming rare nowadays. Tosic has 12 full caps with Serbia and has scored 9 goals in 20 matches with Partisan. Ok there still some work to be done from our side but he cannot be considered as a youngster.

Yea... But I can't see us not getting him in January..

IMO Ivanovic was always a solid player... Really wasted a whole year of his footballing career by choosing to move to Chelsea.. Why don't players learn from their (Chealsea's) past dealings is beyond me...

I agree. Unless, Partisan dont convince us to keep him there for the next few months I cant see us not bringing him to OT on January.

Yup you are correct. I have to hand it to him though, he has looked solid in every match he has played for them and has proven that he is better than Alex. If he doesn't play from now on then he will get bought by someone else.

Yes he is better than Alex that was never in doubt.. Infact he was better that Paulo Ferriera too still he never got a look in... I believe he should have left at the start of this season.. I heard AC Milan were interested... Did they have a loan bid rejected or something of the sort?

I think he is a bit clumsy sometimes, especially against Arsenal he made some too obvious fouls. But I believe he would get much better if he'd play consistently in the starting 11. Good player.

I don't put those down to clumsiness, I think they are more fouls done on purpose. I was at the Chelsea Arsenal game on sunday and you could see that he would just obstruct the player (if he couldn't win it of course) to make sure ball wouldn't get through. Vidic has done this too - but I agree he will become much better with games.

I couldn't believe how many headers he won against Adebayor though, Bane's heading ability is seriously good.

Any update on the Ljajic move? One serb poster says that he read a report that it has been agreed that we will get Ljajic when he turns 18 this time next year, but I'm unsure about that as there were no quotes. However, the serbian poster did say that it was from a respected newspaper in Serbia....

If I recall correctly, FIFA introduced a rule a few years ago that prevented players from transferring from one country to another before they were 18 -this rule does not apply between EU countries, the EU being viewed as a single state.
So it would make sense that this kid must wait until he's 18.

Ah nevermind. They messed up with the formation listing. Where it says "Lazetic" it was actually Ljajic, as Lazetic is not on the player ratings part and Ljajic is instead.

i think the fact that SAF has a reputation for giving young players (like Ronaldo) a shot at developing makes top young talent want to come here ... was reading something about Benzema and where he wanted to go ... he said he liked Spain (barca & madrid) but didn't like the way they treated young people ... while united and milan will give him room to develop ... hope they keep coming to united

Havent seen anything about Tosic or Ljajic in that match, but I did find this

Quote:
Sevilla fans had a sense of deju vu this midweek, as Partizan Belgarde midfielder Almani Moreira had everyone in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjjuan stadium holding their breath when he fell unconscious following a clash of heads in the first half of their UEFA Cup match.

Memories of Antonio Puerta, the Sevilla defender who tragically died from a heart-attack suffered on the pitch during the opening match of last season, quickly flooded back. Thankfully, the latest reports regarding Moreira is that he is set to make a full recovery.

The incident arrived in the 3rd minute of the match, as Moreira collided with two Sevilla players while challenging for the ball, resulting with Moreira immediately falling to the ground, where he lay motionless for almost three minutes. Players from both teams instinctively went to the player’s aid, preventing Moreira from swallowing his tongue, before the medical staff swiftly arrived to carefully stretcher the midfielder off the ground and directly to hospital, where he has since regained consciousness.
