Send a message via ICQ to Amir
According to the original news, we were waiting for response to our work permit applications. So maybe both sides are keeping their mouths shut until we know whether we can actually bring them to England.

The reason for this? Who knows. Partizan still has 6 very important games to play in the Serbian league before January, maybe he's trying to keep the heads cool (in the team).

Most commentators from Serbia say Ljajic should stay at least another year in Partizan and then join a bigger club. Tosic however is ready to go. Some Partizan-haters compare him to Modric who Tottenham paid big money for and who hasn't been 'exceptional' so far (as praised by the Croatian media). I rate Tosic more than Modric anyway. Tosic is an awesome player but let's not forget he is playing in the Serbian league which obviously cant compare to the Premier League. But it looks as he can only get better.

My favourite player btw is still Gojko Kacar who went to Berlin. 21 years old, very clever guy, can play loads of positions, in Berlin he's playing a Carrick type position and has already been voted as the most valuable player in Berlin. Both players though, Bambi and Kacar would fit in ManUnited nicely, no doubt about that.

In the end I trust Fergie will make the right decision
Gojko is an amazing talent. I'd say he is more box to box then Carrick though. He almost always comes close to scoring in games!

I rate Modric higher than Tosic though.

Cocks out.

Sir Alex Ferguson will make a personal plea on Friday to try to persuade the Home Office to award a work permit to Zoran Tosic, the young Serbia winger. Manchester United have agreed a fee with Partizan Belgrade, believed to be in the region of £8 million, but the 21-year-old does not qualify automatically for a work permit as he is not yet a regular for the national team.

United must make a special application to the Home Office, which will be heard in Sheffield by a panel that is likely to include Chris Waddle, the former England winger. United’s case is not certain to be looked on favourably but Ferguson will make the point that Tosic, who already has 12 caps for his country, is a player of outstanding potential.

Not a word on Ljajic though.

Still no quotes though. Ljajic seems like a solid talent. If a deal is being lined up, hopefully he's part of it.

Some reports are suggesting that we've agreed to pay £8-9 million for the pair of them:

Manchester United Close To Sealing £9m Deal For 'Little Kaka' & Tosic

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to take things forward in signing Partizan Belgrade midfielder Zoran Tosic this week by helping him get a work permit.

The hearing to decide as to whether Tosic should be granted a work permit is scheduled for Friday.

If the permit is granted the Red Devils will then put forth a £9m bid which has been already agreed by the Partizan officials for Tosic and his team-mate Adam Ljajic, who is known as 'Little Kaka' in Serbia to leave for Old Trafford.

17-year old Ljajic has already had a trial with the Premier League Champions and is considered to be one of the future stars of European football.

Manchester United target Zoran Tosic has urged caution despite reports that The Red Devils have already applied for a work permit for the Partizan Belgrade winger.

Sir Alex Ferguson has identified Tosic as a possible long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs and a double deal has been set up to bring Adem Ljajic to Old Trafford as well, as previously revealed on setantasports.com.

Reports in England claim Ferguson will attend a meeting on Friday to hear if an £8 million move for Tosic can be processed as the 21-year-old requires a work permit. A panel, allegedly including Chris Waddle, will assess the case.

However, Tosic and Ljajic are only thinking of Partizan at present and are refusing to confirm the move is being pushed through.

"I don't know anything about it," said Tosic. "I heard about that on TV.

"My friends called me and told me to watch SOS Kanal [a Serbian TV station] and I was surprised.

"I really don't think about a transfer to United. We will talk about this in the future.

"If this will happen, we will talk about me playing in England and playing in Ryan Giggs's position but, until then, it doesn't make sense to talk about it.

"The Premier League is the strongest league in Europe. The game is all about strength and aggression. The beauty of the game is not so important."

Ljajic scored in the 5-1 win against OFK Belgrade at the weekend and also stressed nothing was concluded, despite already undergoing a trial at Old Trafford.

"I really don't know anything about it," said the 17-year-old. "Of course, I like the stories of me going to United, but the most important thing for me right now is Partizan.

"I concentrate only on the games and try to give my best for the team."

I'm surprised with how much media attention this is getting. At first I thought it was pure BS, but Ljajic has had a trial at Utd so there is something to to it for sure.

Tosic has the potential to succeed in the PL I am sure of that. Ljajic looks like a potential superstar, both should play vs Standard Liege on Thursday.

Why are these journos so excited that Chris Waddle is on the panel? Is the whole story just a back handed attempt to get Chris Waddle some column inches so his CelebDaq rating goes up??

Ferguson closes in on ‘Little Kaka’

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly secured the signatures of a pair of Serbian wonderkids from Partizan Belgrade for £9 million, according the The Daily Mail.

Midfielders Zoran Tosic, 21, and Adem Ljajic, 17, are two of the hottest properties in the Serbian Superliga.

A work-permit hearing to decide whether Tosic can join United takes place this Friday.

Ljajic, nicknamed “Little Kaka” has already made an appearance in the Champion’s League. He had a trial with the European Champions while on International duty in England with the Serbian under 21s, and Ferguson liked what he saw.

“We have been in contact with Manchester United for some time now” confirmed Partizan general secretary Darko Grubor.

Any of the Serbian lads on this board have any more news on this?

Partizan deny United deal

No deal for Tosic or Ljajic

Partizan Belgrade have insisted they have not had any contact with Manchester United over Zoran Tosic or Adem Ljajic.

United are believed to be looking at both players with reports suggesting they have already agreed terms for Tosic which could also see Ljajic moving to Manchester.

Tosic is a current Serbian international and reports in England have claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson will be part of a United delegation that will attend a work-permit hearing this week over the left-winger.

The 21-year-old does not meet current work-permit criteria to play in the Premier League but, given he is valued at £8million, reports suggest United are trying to broker a permit for him.

However, Partizan sports director Ivan Tomic has stated that United have not signed either player, amid claims the European champions will try and strike a double deal.

United's interest in Ljajic - another attacking midfielder - heralds from the fact he was on trial at Old Trafford earlier this season.

The 17-year-old is understood to have impressed, which has led to constant speculation that a move to United was in the pipeline.

No deal

"It is not true that Tosic and Ljajic have already signed for Manchester United," Tomic said.

"It is simple, there has been no direct contact or official offer coming from England.

"Of course, it would be nice if they want some of our players, but it's not true."

Tosic has also continued to insist he knows nothing about a deal.

"I have nothing new to add on that subject, as I contacted my managers and they told me to keep my focus on playing and to stick to our mutual agreement which is that they will not inform me about anything until things move on to a much clearer situation," Tosic told Vecernje Novosti.

Both are in the starting lineup against Standard Liege according to one paper. Don't think there is a stream for this anywhere.

Ah it is.

Was staying pretty much in the centre. Wandered around a bit, saw some cockroaches and buildings that are falling down, and went to that beach by the river which was crawling.

And yet, inexplicably, the women are ridiculously hot.

I didn't watch the game but Partizan lost 1-0. I heard that Tosic played really well though for those interested. He hit the bar and was a general handful. Ljajic didn't really stand out as far as i'm told - he did show some ability to beat players though.

If anyones interested I will post a torrent link to the match later

It is... in your opinion.

Buildings falling down - were they the bombed buildings by any chance?
What was wrong with the beached area?

Did you walk around any of the parks or any of the old streets? Of course there's going to be shitty areas (as there are in London - certain areas are real shithoooles) but calling it a 'filthy, shitty city' is out of line and an insult to people who live there.

Some comments regarding Ljajic and Tosic's perfomances tonight:

Shame they couldn't convert some chances because Partizan was owning for the first 35 mins of second half and then ran out of energy as did Tosic. Fejsa played pretty well also. He had a really nice shot from 30 m out. Jovanovic connected nice with Tosic on the left. Diarra and Moreirra were invisible in second half. But nobody really was looking for them. It was all Tosic.

Adem Ljajic had some nice dribbles and took one shot wide. He seemed a little lost becuse Tosic was playing LB in first half and kept going forward leaving Ljajic in the back to defend at times. Ljajic had some nice dribbles and it shows that he's not ready for European competition. Also, it showed that he has potential and got passed a couple of players quite easily. I'd really like to see him progress at Partizan for a few more years like Tosic. Tosic was amazing tonight and I am a firm believer now that he has the potential to succeed at Manchester United. I had my doubts before, but he keeps on impressing me game after game.

Otherwise he's ready to cover 50% for Giggs and if he gets stronger could possibly be as good or even better than Giggs. He is young though and has time ahead of him.
