Yeah he's not a bad buy at all. Better than an injury free Benayoun I reckon.

Big wages though. 3m a fair price for Everton to fetch as well considering the time left on his contract. Seems like a pretty fair deal for all parties.

Come to think of it, Park is exactly the type of squad player Wenger would have coveted ten years ago. You know back when Arsenal were actually winning trophies.

Or maybe the 70k figure is not reliable.
Seems to me there's a chance for real squad unrest when you pay a bit part player like Piennar 70k a week.

Good man to stand up and make a proper statement instead of hiding behind an agent.

What a transfer muppet Redknap is... And then he's offended when he's refered to as a whealer dealer

Seems to be working though

Why is 'Arry Redknapp always in a car when answering transfer questions?

On the way to sign another player, why else?

Talk in the press about Everton wanting him back on loan, or that Spurs will go for Rodwell and Pienaar will move back permanent.

It didn't work out for him at Spurs, I thought he did well when playing for Everton, maybe his level is Everton and not Spurs?

I never really understood that move. He's nothing special. Even at the time they signed him they had better players in his position. Everton could be a good move for him.

He is excess to needs at Spurs. Dont think Everton will want to give up Rodwell at this juncture. Loan is the best for them.

Nothing at all. I think he's been injured but he was on the bench against Norwich, Harry went for Kranjcar instead of Pienaar when making changes.

They already had enough players to idle on the bench. They really should of given Dos Santos more of a look. He has looked ace for Mexico and at least has room to grow. Pienaar I've never had much time for.

He was never going to be first choice there, but I certainly expected him to play more games than he has. 'Their version of Park' is what I called him when the deal was going through.

Unfortunately for him, they seem to choose Bale, Lennon, Kranjcar, Modric and VDV all ahead of him when it comes to wing positions.

I felt he would be a good squad player, but I thought that about Niko Krancjar and he barely plays. It seems to me Redknapp isn't great with squad players; he keeps his first XI as consistent as possible, and players like Pienaar and Pavlychenko end up rotting and looking well off the place when they do play.

For Pienaar, he probably went up a couple of levels in his bank balance from being at Spurs and got to live in London instead of Merseyside. Maybe it was worth it.

I think Everton will probably get him back. Pienaar may have now realised that if he has hopes of playing for a bigger club and playing first team football, Everton's the highest he can really aim.

He obviously had enough belief in himself and thought he could step up. I dont think anyone can really blame him for that.

He should know his level now, if I were him I'd jump at the chance to go back to Everton.

Yeah, I meant more from Spurs' side. It always seemed to me that he'd make their bench at best when everyone was fit. And from what I've read he's on a very good wage there.

One of our strangest signings of recent times. We've somehow managed to turn what seemed to be one of the fittest players at Everton, never injured, into a player that has spent the majority of his time at Spurs on the treatment table (thanks to what seems to be a ridiculously inept medical outfit). And, aside from the AC Milan tie, even when he is fit, he does almost nothing on the pitch.

Think it was just a 'well he's available for cheap, might as well pick up him'. Bit like Kranjcar.

Except Kranjcar is significantly better imo.

No way Rodwell is involved in any deal like that but if he is we need to make an offer for him!

If there's a football player and he isn't currently dead, Redknapp is interested.

Wasn't it just for squad strength? I never understand why people think Kranjcar is a luxury you don't need if you've got Modric - how many midfielders do United/Chelsea/Arsenal have that can play in the same position? If Spurs want to last the course in the PL and play in Europe midweek they need decent cover in all positions.

I guess Pienaar was signed for his versatility and as cover for Lennon?

I assume so. I wasn't against his signing per say at the beginning, I thought he could provide a more like for like replacement for Bale and Lennon (ie with pace), as well as a squad option for VDV and Modric when injured. Very hardworking as well, our own inferior version of Park if you will. Hasn't quite turned out like that, not least because he's hardly ever been fit.

Kranjcar is not a luxury, anyone who says that doesn't really know what they're talking about. He's an altogether different player from Modric as well, playing mostly on the left of midfield and drifting in or in VDV's position behind the striker. As hardworking as Pienaar can be, I'd rather have match winners like Kranjcar on the bench.

I think he goes to Sunderland.

They need a player like him and he should leave Tottenham this month.
