Transfer Fees

Just a quick question, I shall assume this is the correct forum.

With Robinho's recent transfer to City, the price that was quoted was around $32.1 Million Pounds.

I just read an article

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...ho-942698.html

Which states another 4 milllion was paid to his agent taking the fee up to 36 million.

For those who know, are the transfer fees, say Berbatov's inclusive of what is paid to the agent? 30.75 million all up or not including the agent fees?

I remember United declaring for Saha back in the day, that his fee was inclusive of an agent fee, 13 million all up. Boy how time flies, ol Louis moved on and so have we

Surely Robinho's agent got more than 4 million if Berba's got that much

The difference is City would of had to pay Robinho's agent to convince him to join City.

Part of the fee might hav been for the having had to hide the fact that it was not United but the other manchester club that he was signing for.

clubs shouldn't pay the agents anything, it's the players agent so he should be the one who pays

After all the troubles a few years ago, United has since included all payments related to the transfer in the transfer fee.

This is not common though.

If your robinho, you would sack your agent if he's part of a move that takes you to manchester city ...it's fair game.

But last season when our financial statement got released it was reported we've paid £2M to the agents. Is it not?

They could be non-transfer related though.

Yes that's right but what's your point?

Why does the fact we disclosed how much we paid to agents in the year prevent us from including agents fees in the full transfer fee?
